Andy x Claus
Mentions of death!!
__Everyone on the apple farm noticed a 'switch flipping' at the farm. Everyone started having intense nightmares, began not feeling like themselves, distancing themselves, etc. This was most prominent in Claus and Andy however.
In a silent room, the only thing Claus could hear is ticking. He always set alarms on himself for events. He knew that he needed to do something at these times but couldn't figure it out. What in God's name would he need to do at 5:03 pm? Claus didn't know. He used to be comforted by the sound of a ticking clock but now feels nauseous everytime he hears it. His nightmares were a lot for frequent than the others, other than Andy. They always depicted Claus sprinting down a forest path, looking back he gets met with an axe to the face. He always took note of the fact that he seemed to be human in these dreams. There were also the times where he felt as though he wasn't in control. Doing and saying things no one expected from him. It was well known at the farm that Claus wasn't exactly straight, but one day he spontaneously hit on Margaret. He was just confused as everyone else and distanced himself for days.
Andy was in a simular state to Claus. He used to love getting work done, especially picking apples and cutting down trees; however, now he cant bare the thought. He had the same dreams as Claus but from the axemen's pov. He heard a whisper telling him that the man he was following needed to die. That this is what would save him. So, he chased. At the end of every nightmare he saw claus dead on the floor instead of the man he was originally chasing. Of course, this took a toll on Andy's mental health. Repeatedly seeing your... best friend ...die to your own hands wouldn't be the most uplifting thing ever. As a farm worker, Andy could read the time based on the sun's position. He took a mental note at the fact that it seemed to be 5 in his nightmares. Andy also recognized the path, although the path in the dream didn't exactly match up.
Without knowing, Andy and Claus both decided to investigate the path on the same day. Andy arrived at 5 exactly and found an old axe in the bushes. Claus arrived at exactly 5:03, not wanting to be early nor late. Claus spotted Andy in the bushes.
"Andy? What would you be doing in the bush-" then Claus spotted the axe. Andy looked back at Claus, sadness and fear were the only things apparent in his eyes.
"Have you been having the same dreams, Claus?" Andy asked standing up, leaving the axe in the bushes. Claus locked eyes with Andy for a moment before looking away.
"I suppose so, these dreams are exactly very good. In my dreams, I die. I just keep dying to an axe. I also took note I was a human. In a blue shirt I believe? It always ended the same. My head cracked open from a single swing. I never got a look at the man weilding the axe." Claus shared his nightmare with Andy, Andy's eyes began to fill with tears.
"I'm so sorry Claus. My nightmares are the same but.. I'm the man with the axe. Something whispers to me that this is the only way to free myself, I can't make heads or tails of it. Suddenly, I pick up an axe but I don't have a choice. No matter how hard I fight back, I still end up weilding it. I chase a man in a blue shirt; just as I swing, it turns into you. Just before i could stop it. I hate the dreams, I want them to go away." Andy spoke fast and stutters rang through his speech but Claus understood. Claus gently hugged Andy and rubbed circles into his back.
"We just have to get to the bottom of this, there's a story here. We just have to figure it out." Claus spoke softly, trying not to worry Andy any more than he already was. Tears fell from Andy's eyes, there was a whisper heard by both Andy and Claus.
"Thomas, you killed him. You killed Arthur." Memories shot through both of their minds. Trying to figure out the names. Claus snapped out of it first. He yanked Andy, snapping him out of the trance.
"We need to go, we can't be here." Claus said, glancing behind himself. Then he noticed it. A black figure was now following them. It was slowly speeding up. Within a heart beat, Claus threw Andy over his shoulder and started sprinting.
"CLAUS RUN FASTER, ITS CATCHING UP!" Andy screamed, looking at Claus. He didn't know he could, but adrenaline rushed through Claus. He sped up, running speeds he never could've guessed he could. They made it off the path but the figure was still there. They continued running for as long as Claus' legs could carry them both. The figure eventually stopped and disappeared where it stood. Claus and Andy were now in the center area of the farm. Margaret and Felix were sitting at the Picnic table calmly until they saw Claus sprint over. With a shaky breath, Claus collapsed to his knees, careful to not injure Andy.
"Oh goodness, are you okay Claus??" Margaret asked, getting up from her sitting position to help Claus. Andy helped Claus up to the best of his ability.
"Margaret, sit down. I'll be alright." Claus started, suddenly he felt extremely nauseous. He immediately sprang to his feet and ran to the bushes. Andy followed. Claus proceeded to hurl into the bushes. Andy, although disgusted, helped Claus. He gently patted Claus' back. Claus wiped his mouth and looked up at Andy.
"Are you alright Claus?" Andy asked, genuine concern showing through his tone of voice.
"Mhm, I'll be fine. I just need water and a hot bath." Claus said, trying to muster up a smile.
"I'll go start you a bath at my house then, I'll be back." Andy spoke quickly and sprinted away. Claus tried to stand up once more but immediately his knees buckled. He'd be stuck here until Andy got back. So, he began thinking with the sound of ticking filling the silence. 'Arthur.. it sounded so familiar. Like I should know who he is. Thomas killed him? Who's Thomas?' Claus thought about the name before moving onto the memories he experienced in the moment. 'There was fire. There was a burned down house. The path. The same scene as my dreams. Why did I parallel with Arthur? Obviously, I had to be him in my dreams. Could this be the force that is causing the "out of body" moments?' Questions raced through Claus' mind. Andy ran over.
"Come on, it's time for a bath. I'll make tea while you bathe." Andy whispered softly, Claus nodded. Andy grabbed his hand and hoisted Claus up, helping Claus walk to his house. Andy unlocked the door and slipped in with Claus.
"Do you- uh- need help getting to the bath?" Andy's face became a deeper red, Claus also blushed.
"Just walk me there, could you?" Claus asked, trying to ignore the idea of Andy trying to help Claus no matter the circumstances.
"Will do, friend." And with that Claus was lead to the bathroom, which held his bath.

__Claus stood up and left the bath. He noticed that Andy left him spare clothes that he had left here before. It had been a while since Claus wore anything but a suit, so wearing a sweater and comfy shorts didn't feel bad. He quickly pulled on his gloves and carried his suit with him to the living room. Andy met him at the door.
"Let me take care of that. I'll wash your clothes for you. Tea and water is on the living room table, along with medicine and food." Andy tenderly took the clothes from Claus as the clock man wondered to the couch. He picked up a tea cup and poured himself some tea from the kettle. Claus took a sip, ignoring the heat of the drink. Soon enough the tea cup was empty. Claus set down the cup and grabbed the medicine. It was a basic pain killer drink medicine. He took a sip of it, as expected the taste was foul. Claus drowned this taste out by pouring and drinking another cup of tea. Andy returned, holding a pillow and blanket. Andy sat next to Claus, handing him the bed materials. Claus put the pillow behind himself and snuggled up into the blanket.
"Andy, you don't need to take care of me. I should be fine." Claus started speaking, Andy responded short after.
"No, you probably just saved us both from death. I will be taking care of you. Tomorrow we're not going to work, turn off all of your alarms. Including the 5 o'clock one," Andy thought and then continued.
"Obviously, being on time isn't always the best option."
__I will most likely continue the day off in another chapter, most likely the next one.
