Just short fluffy bits of Gus x Matt headcannons.
I try to stick to cannon but a lot of it is headcannon and fannon.

I feel so safe in Matt's arms. Wrapped around my waist, his arms hold me close. His chest pressed against my back, I can feel the rise and fall of his lungs when he breaths. His breath on the back of my neck.
"Hey Gus" he mutters in my ear "Its time to get up"
--Time Skip--
Matt leads me through a particularly dense part of the forest towards the tip of the knee. We travel for about 20 minutes on a thin trail that you can barely see. As we progress the trail goes steeper uphill and is seemingly trying to deter anyone traveling up it. Finally the trail widens out. When we breach the trees, we enter a grove, my breath is taken away by the sight of it.
The grove is almost fully closed in, the only ways in or out are three small trails going down the sides of the knee, counting the one we came up on. Even though the knee is cold due to the altitude, there is an immense amount of warmth and vegetation.
In the center there is a small pond with a light blue tinge to the water. The pond is emitting some sort of light and the entire area glows with the blue hue.
"Wow, Just Wow. Matt this is beautiful!" I say while tackling him in a hug
hugging me back he says "I know right! It uh- it made me think of you."
We stand like that for a while, embracing each other. Just taking in the comfortable feel of the grove and the other's presence.
Finally Matt breaks the silence "I um, I got you something for your birthday"
"Aww, you did! Thank you!" I reply
Matt summons his Palisman and it comes flying over to him in staff form, attatched to it is a parcel in a wierd cyllender shape. He takes it off of his staff and hands it to me, blushing slightly.
When I unwrap it I am filled with sheer joy, Matt got me a bucket, a real human bucket! I have been wanting one of these for ages but every one I find arent in good enough condition to put my bucket list on.
Holding the bucket up in the air I dramatically drop to my knees, "Its.... Its BEAUTIFUL" I say. "How did you know? I dont remember telling you about this."
"Well it was a while ago" he admits "and I- hmm- uh yeah."
I swear that I never mentioned my Bucket list to him, although it might have just one time.
