Once they had arrived at the café in the shadow of Stark Tower, Hannah and Steve ordered their usual breakfasts of a full English for Steve, and Nutella and Biscoff pancakes for Hannah.
"So," started Steve, attempting to delicately surface a topic that had been on his mind for several weeks. "I heard they've set a date for Meyers' trial."
"Oh! Uh, yeah, I heard that too. Two weeks tomorrow. Why'd you mention it?" Hannah replied, never looking up from her hands which were fiddling with the skin around her fingers.
"I wasn't sure if you'd go or not."
"Err, I hadn't really thought about it."
Hannah's hands moved up to pick at the skin on her lips. Upon seeing this, Steve stretched his arms out across the table and took her hands in his.
"Hey, it's okay if you don't wanna go, and it's okay if you never wanna mention him again, but I don't want you bottling your feelings up, Han. And I certainly don't want you to feel like you can't talk to me, okay?" Steve questioned, leaning towards Hannah slightly, his eyebrows curving up in the middle, showing his concern.
"Thank you, Steve. I'm okay, really. I've just had a lot on my plate, all of us have! What with the move, and the near constant missions. It's just a lot right now. But I promise I'm okay. And I promise to tell you if ever I'm not, so long as you swear to tell me if something is ever wrong with you, too. Deal?"
"Deal."

...

Once their meals had been demolished, Hannah and Steve left a tip, said goodbye to their waitress, who had been sufficiently distracted giving Blue treats throughout their meal, and set off for the compound.
"I think we should take a vacation. A proper one, where we actually manage to leave New York for a couple of days. Sam and Bucky can look after Blue, and we can just exist as regular people for a week or two. I mean, we'd have to clear it with the rest of the team, but-" Steve was cut off.
"That sounds perfect, Steve. Thank you." Hannah replied, looking up at Steve with a soft smile. "We can look at places to go once we get back to the compound. And I'm sure we can put it on the-"
"Company credit card, I know. I'll check with Tony when we get back," Steve said with a breathy laugh.

Just at that moment, Hannah's phone started to ring.
"Hello?" Hannah questioned, looking at Steve with her eyebrows tightly furrowed. "Tony? Everything okay?"
"Han, there's a guy that's just turned up at the compound in pretty bad shape."
By this point, Hannah had put her phone on speaker so Steve could hear too.
"Why do you need us to come in, Tony? Are none of the others free to handle it?" Steve questioned, authoritatively.
"Because the guy's phone, has Hannah down as his emergency contact."
