Sam awoke to a splash of water on his face, he looked up and saw that colby was rowing which meant he mustve been asleep for a good while.
"Morning sleeping beauty" colby lightly chuckled
"mhm. How you holding up" Sam murmed
Colby nodded
"still in alot of pain" He inhaled sharply
"You look really pale as soon as we get to this island you need to drink some water" colby nodded
"How are we gonna explain this to people. There not just gonna believe 'we went to hawaii and got fucking kidnapped and offered to the dark lord'" colby asked.
Sam shook his head.
"I'm actually more concerned about how we're gonna tell our family and friends.. Your mom mustve tried ringing you or soemthing and you haven't been answering they will realise somethings wrong.." Sam replied dryly
"Did you... Think we were gonna die-did you think I was going to die?" Colby stated shakily
"I didn't until you said that I changed your life.. I realised you were trying everything to save us when you took those kicks to the ribs"
Colby nodded not saying anything..
They sat in a comfortable silence for about 15 minutes
"I'm gonna go back to kansas. For like a month... I need to be around my family for a bit" colby broke the silence.
Sam nodded "How long have you been rowing for?" He asked seeing how close the island looked.
"2 and half hours" He stated bluntly.
Sam adjusted where he was sitting so he was sitting directly opposite colby.
"I owe you fucking everything colby.. You took a fucking beating for us." He said quietly noticing colbys leg tensing and untensing.
"Shh- listen.. Helicopter..." colby shushed Sam ashe rowed quicker the island a couple meters away
Sam shook Alex and nate awake as colby grounded the boat onto the sand and painfully got out.
"Colby you shouldn't walk on your leg come here me and nate will help you walk" colby didn't argue with Alex he just let them help.
Sam walked next to them as he hung onto nate and Alex hopping on his non injured leg the helicopter was in sight and Manuel the tour guide from before came out and opened the door for them to hop in
Once sat in the helicopter colby held out his hand and grasped it with sams.
And they were taking off.
They were gonna be okay..
