Things with Toni have been going great. I try and spend as much time with her, Anthony and Sasha. Anthony and Toni have basically been staying a lot at my place which I don't mind one bit. It's nice to come home from a late night shift to a house full of people. It also gives Sasha more company than just Veronica.

He told his mother the other night that he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up. The look of panic in Toni's eyes almost made me laugh, but I know how overprotective a parent can be. My father tried to steer me in another career direction, but the firehouse has always felt like home. It's always been my natural calling.

Right now I'm on my way home from another late night shift. But I get the next couple of days off so I'm excited to spend some time with the kids and Toni.

It doesn't take long and I'm pulling into the driveway. I park my truck and head inside the house. Once I enter the quietness of the house is almost disturbing. It's normally never this quiet.
