The wind was whistling in Marianne's ears as she opened her eyes and saw the ground speeding towards her. She scrambled around for something, anything to delay her and her friends' demise when a gold streak caught them on its back. Her butt went thump on the creature's back, and she spent a moment rubbing her backside before looking at their savior. The animal had huge, sail-like wings that danced through the sky. She glanced around at her friends, and breathed a sigh of relief when she realized that they were fine.
"Thank god you're all okay," Marianne said.
"Yeah." Cadence's ears perked up
"Where are we?" Christine asked, scratching her head as her tail wrapped itself around her arm.
"Let's go see!" Nagisa rushed to the head of the dragon, and drank in the sights. The land below was dotted with fields, small gatherings of boxes, forests, and a vast desert. The dragon descended, dropping off its cargo in a forest next to a village.
The forest whispered with the rustling of leaves everywhere, and their skin was crawling with anticipation. Every noise made it worse when suddenly the noises ceased. A young girl emerged from the glade, holding a carved wooden staff with a flame at the end. Her cold eyes pierced theirs, and her hair shone like gold.
"Hello. Can you help us?" Rebecca inquired. The stranger turned the staff's head at them.
"What are you doing in my territory?" she growled. Rebecca backed away, her lynx ears flattening. Every muscle in Marianne's body tensed as she prepared to fight. Cadence was crouching down, Christine held onto her keratin cape, and Elizabeth tensed up like a spring, ready to bolt. Elizabeth's white fluffy ears turned, picking up noise from somewhere.
The girl lobbed a fireball at them, and Marianne smelled singed hair. Cadence dug into the ground while Elizabeth ran around, distracting the lady. Rebecca snuck up behind her, and swung her claws into her back. Blood danced around the forest, staining Rebecca's frilly skirt. The magical girl's body fell to the ground, and the group panted together, the sweat pouring down their faces.
Rebecca said, "I don't think the villagers would like me like this." She pointed at the blood.
"Wait," Marianne interjected. "We're not transforming back into our normal clothes."
"So we're stuck in our magical girl outfits? Darn it." Elizabeth crossed her arms. A purple portal appeared out of nowhere, hovering in midair.
"Let's go!" Nagisa encouraged the others to go through the portal, and they left this strange world, never to see it again.

AdventureThis was an assignment for my creative writing class, and I liked it so much that I decided to post it on here. It's a crossover between my two current WIPs, a D&D story and a story about magical girls with animal ears.
