Winding Path

Running through the greenery

Sailing through the breeze

Downpour from above us

like the everlasting seas

A canopy of branches

Risen from the ground

All protecting arms are

on both sides to be found

On this winding path ahead

with every twist and turn

you'll see puddles of red earth

under every single fern

The roads are smooth and tarred

and uniformly even

There are a bump or two

where perfection has not been achieved in

The rolling hills on both sides

encompass us like a valley

and for the surreal vegetation

I can't possibly keep tally

Through the dry and wet spells

the trees are never brittle

Drinking in the water

sip by sip, little by little

Diffused sunlight seeping through

the clouds which act like curtains

the sun will shine anew

with a rainbow through the mountains

As we travel downwards

Descending through the slopes

the rain has stopped pouring

and the mist is our envelope

Lakes and valleys

Hills and streams

The sun still shining

with rainfall unforeseen

Splash-sploosh-splish

We ride through puddles

Through this hilly forest

our innova rides

Green are the leaves

their tips yellow

giving the trees life

when all else looks mellow

The red earth beneath us

and on all sides

A healthy ground for plants

in which the nutrients hide

The shower still upon us

Be it ever so light

Caring for the farms

in their desperate plight

Finally rays of sunlight

burst through their blanket

Raining down upon us

and for that we thank it.
