Chapter 39

15 September 2016, 11.00 a.m.
It was the conference day. Conference was at 12.30. There was tension everywhere. I quickly got ready for the conference, still in tension and doubt. I reached 15 minutes earlier. I went inside and was sitting at my place. Reporters were already present at the conference hall. 8 chairs were arranged on the stage and everyone were discussing about one extra chair. I spotted the reporter lady, the one who interviewed me. The hashtag trends increased until the conference time. Only 5 minutes left for the conference. No one knew what was going to happen, the camera person were ready with their cameras on. Woollim cameras were also ready. I was sitting with my fingers crossed and my heart was beating faster. It was time and INFINITE came on the stage, they were dressed in formals. White shirt and black pants, everyone of them were looking handsome. I even clicked their pictures in my phone. That one chair was still empty.
"Hana, Dul, Set, Annyeonghasseyo INFINITEimnida" Everyone of them said and it felt so good to hear. I recorded their video.
After the introduction Woollim CEO came in."Annyeonghasseyo, Woollim CEO Lee Jung Yeop imnida" he said and sat on the empty chair. It got more tensed, as INFINITE and CEO nim sat together.
"Yeorobeun, as we said that we are here to announce something. We will not say, we will show you" Sungkyu oppa said and the lights turned off.
There was a screen nearby, a video flashed on it. The video contained the slides of the news, articles and twitter hashtags related to Infinite scandle and disbandment. Through some light I could see the faces of members and their faces were disappointed. It had the pictures that were released in the article and after sometime the video ended. Lights were on and Infinite members, their faces were still disappointed.
"Yes, this is what we had to show you" Sungkyu oppa started.
"There were some Inspirits who supported and believed in us and also there were some who broke our trust." Woohyun said
"Inspirits, you all are our strength. We are because you are." Sungjong said.
"The hashtags were disappointing, we felt alone but yes we had our Inspirits who did not let us feel sad. They are our inspiration and that's why they are Inspirits." Dongwoo said
"All the reporters attacked woollim building and each member's house to know the truth but the family members and woollim trainees were more worried and under pressure." CEO nim said
"Sir, but there was no statement from woollim. A statement would've cleared everything" one of the reporter lady said
"Everything happened so quickly and we respected members decision. They were already disturbed and didnt want to talk about it. Our members decision and their health is most important thing for us" CEO nim said.
"Sungkyu sshi, if this is not true then where did these pictures come from? Do you want to say they are edited? If no, then are they real??" the reporter girl asked.
"Yes these pictures are real."
"Mwoh(what?), eo?, eh" different expressions from audience
"The only thing is that they are presented inappropriately infront of everyone." Sungkyu oppa said
"We will tell you everything properly. Leader nim go ahead" Hoya said
"Nono, you say Hoya" Sungkyu oppa said and singled with his eyes to Hoya.
"Okay so, the thing portraited in front of you all was that I was with a girl who is from abroad. Now I'll tell you what happened. The girl that I was spotted with, she is in my dance academy and we eventually became friends. The first time when I was captured with her, was her first day for dance academy and as she was from abroad she didn't have a clue about address. Randomly we met and she asked me for the address. It came out to be the same academy that I go so I decided to drop her. I was going to dance academy in Woollim car and therefore she was also seen with me in the car. As I am the one who knows how to speak English therefore I frequently talk to her and we have been seen together. I ensure you all that the girl is just a trainee in dance academy and not my girlfriend. I also request you all to stop searching for her and all the other suspected girls as it invades their privacy. Thank you." Hoya said calmly.
"Who's next?" Sungkyu oppa asked.
"Yeah, can I say?" Sungjong asked while looking at Sungkyu oppa
"Yes Sungjong"
"In my case, in my recent post at Han River I was seen with a charm that was of a girl in my hand. Yes, it was a charm of a girl. I was roaming around at Han River when I saw a precious charm at the platform near the river. I was holding the charm and finding the owner of it, while I noticed a beautiful sunset so I decided to upload a picture for our fans on SNS. After sometime when I found the owner of the charm she turned out to be an Inspirit. She requested for a hug and so I hugged her. Someone clicked the picture and presented it like I was with a girl at Han River. So the reality is that the girl was just a fan and not my girlfriend" Sungjong said
"I'll go next." Myungsoo said
"Yes" Sungkyu oppa said
"I believe, all this thing started with me. I mean the scandle. So, many things about me were connected with my co-actress for my new drama Park Eunjeong. Me and Eunjeong sshi we both are working together for a drama together and I think its natural for us to be close. Me and Eunjeong sshi were spotted together at a restaurant. Yes we both went to a restaurant together right after the shooting. We both were expecting our parents to join us as they are really good friends. So basically it was just a family meetup but unfortunately only me and Eunjeong sshi were spotted together. Also, later on my birthday I posted a picture and at the same time Eunjeong sshi posted picture in front of the same restaurant. I agree its doubtful but it was just a coincidence. It was the same restaurant we went with family. Concluding that on my birthday I was with my brother and not my co-actress Eunjeong sshi." Myungsoo said
"If it was nothing then why did Eunjeong eonnie delete her post?" one of the reporter asked
"It was because already there were rumours about us and she noticed what others did, so to avoid more misunderstandings she deleted the post. But everything was opposite of what thought and people took wrong meaning out of it. This is it. We both are not dating and just good friends and also co-actors now. I hope you all don't doubt about it now and keep it simple. Thank you." Myungsoo said
"I will say now" Woohyun said.
"Yeah okayy. Go ahead." Sungkyu oppa said.
CEO nim was sitting quietly and listening to everyone. Seemed like he was planning for something very suspicious at the end.
"So, yes I was at the karaoke station on the birthday of Sungkyu hyung. Alone, because of this person" Woohyun said while pointing towards Sungkyu oppa.
"Woohyunahh" Sungkyu oppa said in a bit pleading and a angry tone
"Yeah, yeah. So I was alone in the karaoke enjoying myself and the music. After my timings for karaoke was done I was moving towards the exit door. While I was moving a girl came and crashed me. She was drunk, sad and couldn't walk properly. I held her and asked her where she wanted to go. She told me her address and as she was drunk a lot I decided to leave her back home safely. See your Namu is such a gentleman." Namu did a bit of aegyo.
It was cute. A bit of happiness in the tensed atmosphere.
"I booked a taxi and made my way to my home as I had to take keys from my home. After that I dropped the girl to her house safely and came back home. It was almost dawn when I returned back because the girl stayed far from my place. I had to act that way in the situation, I went alone to the karaoke and not with a girl."
"Why did you go alone? You could've asked some member or a friend?" one reporter asked
"I had a plan to visit Karaoke with Sungkyu hyung but he cancelled the plan on time and until he tells me about cancelled plan, I already reached karaoke station. So I decided to enjoy myself alone." Woohyun answered
"Inspirits you believe me?" Woohyun asked
"Nae (yes)" everyone in the hall answered
"I have you all, then why will I make a girlfriend? I don't need any girlfriend right now and if I make a girlfriend, after my family I'll come and tell you all. So don't worry. Thank you" Woohyun convinced everyone.
"Yeah oppa, we believe you" we all shouted.
"Dongwoo ya say" Sungkyu oppa said
"Ah yes." Dongwoo oppa said
"People say I was with a girl at the playstation but in reality I was with my niece at the playstation and my niece met her friend at the playstation and the kid was with his sister. The kids were playing so I was talking to her normally. People say, after leaving the play station I gave a gift to the girl. Yes that's true but the gift was for the small kid and therefore I gave it to her. The reality is very different from what is shown in the article." Dongwoo oppa said. Unusually he was serious today as if something is going to happen.
"Okay so I think all your doubts are cleared" Sungkyu oppa said and suddenly a lady from crowd stood up. She was the same reporter girl who took my interview. "Sungkyu sshi, Sungyeol sshi didn't give explanation to his story yet" she said and Sungyeol's face turned pale.
Sungkyu oppa looked at Sungyeol and Sungyeol said, "hyung I will say"

 And finally they spoke about it. Spoke about the scandle. We definitely believe INFINITE, right? What next? Why did Sungyeol's face turned pale? Is something wrong? You will get answers to this in the next chapter.
