"Okay, so. What I need is a 10,000 pound fallout shelter comprised of led for photons, cadmium for neutrons, and tantalum for seismic blasts, on wheels." Monica says. "And then, I would be able to safely re-enter WestView. Right?"
"Yes. Theoretically." Darcy says.
I sit on a big steel box as my eyes go over the noted whiteboard.
"I can work with theoretically." Monica says and turns back to the board.
"What'd I miss?" Jimmy says as he enters the room with a tray of coffees.
"The twins aged up to ten." Darcy says.
"Holy Christmas. At this rate, they'll be empty nesters by dinner time." He smiles.
"Wait- if we're trying to get back into the town, why don't I just do it?" I propose as Jimmy hands me a coffee. Not like I can even drink it with a mask on but... it's the thought that counts.
They all look at me confused.
"I mean, we have the same power. If she built barriers of the same magic, I could get through it easily." I shrug.
"That's not a bad idea." Monica says.
"But there's no guarantee that Wanda won't mind control you once you cross over." Darcy points out.
I scoff with a grin on my face. "Wanda and I lived together forever, if she wanted to mind control me, it would've happened by now." I state.
They nod and shrug with a small smile. Monica shakes her head with the same grin.
"Alright. Let's try it at least." Monica says.
We head out to the border. I'm faced with an empty field and a long road that leads to the town.
"Alright, Dahlia." Jimmy says with an exhale. "Show us what you got."
My magic begins to swarm my hands and I step closer and closer. I reach my hand out and the tips of my fingers zap at Wanda's magic.
I reach both my hands out. I feel my energy start to connect with hers, my chest begins to rise and fall rapidly with every breath.
"How we doin', Dahlia?" Monica calls.
"Good." I nod, keeping my eyes on the touch. "I'm gonna go through."
"Focus on your own mind, don't let her in. Breathe and push through." She calls clearly from behind me.
I nod again as I let out a breath. I step forward, smoothly walking through hands first, but as I'm pushing through each layer of the barrier, I feel her emotions taking over. Until I can't even feel my own anymore.

"Sit, Sparky, sit. Good dog." Billy says to the small puppy as he trains him. "Speak." He says and the dog barks.
"Nice, Sparky." He rewards him with a treat. "Now spin." He says and the dog complies.
"Oh! Bravo, Billy!" Wanda claps as she sits on the couch with her other son, Tommy.
"You weren't so bad either, Sparky"
"That was radical." Tommy smiles and hops up from his spot on the couch. "Where's Dad? We gotta go show Dad!" The boy says, the two of them about to run for the kitchen door.
"Oh, he's- he's at work." Wanda says.
The boys stop in their tracks and turn on their heels to face their mother. "It's Saturday." Billy says a bit confused.
