Y/n Maximoff
"Sparky! Come here, boy!" Tommy yells.
"Sparky! Sparky!" Billy calls out.
"Hey, what's the trouble, little dudes?" A mail man asks.
"We can't find our dog." Billy says.
"Ah, don't worry, he's sure to turn up. You're mom won't let him get far." He smiles, "Ma'am." He nods to her.
Wanda ignores his comment and keeps looking around. "I don't know where he could be." She says.
"Wanda, I can go back to the house, maybe he wandered back?" I say and point back to the house down the street.
"No, no. Stay with us." She says.
"Here, boy!" Tommy calls out.
We pass by a house with the sound of rustling bushes, Wanda slowly walks towards the driveway.
"Sparky!" Billy perks up,
Instead, rising from the bushes was a dark haired woman. In her arms, a blue blanket wrapped around the poor, limp dog. She looks between the dog and the boys, a sad expression on her face.
The twins gasp.
"I didn't wanna come until I'd wrapped him up." The woman said as she stepped closer towards us.
"What happened to him?" Wanda asks, walking up to her.
"I found him in my Azalea bushes. Don't know how many leaves he ate." The woman explains with a sincere look on her face. "I didn't find him until it was too late."
Wanda stands next to the woman at a loss for words.
"Oh," The woman looks at the two boys. "Tommy, Billy, I'm so sorry." She says.
The boys look at each other with tears in their eyes and exchange a nod.
"Wait. Don't. Don't." Wanda says to them.
"Don't what?" Tommy snaps.
"Don't age yourselves up." She says.
Huh?
"The urge to run from this feeling is powerful. I know." She says as she puts a hand on either of their shoulders and kneels down to their level. Her voice is delicate like she's scared to be harsh.
"It's too sad." Billy says.
"You can fix anything, mom. Fix the dead." Tommy says to her.
"What?" Wanda says, a bit shocked. She looks between the two boys. "No."
"You can do that?" The woman asks from behind Wanda. She looks back at her and hesitates.
I step in and crouch down next to the boys. "Boys, I think what she's trying to say is," I try to think as they turn to face me.
"That, there are rules in life." I say. "We can't rush aging just because it's convenient." I explain with a nudge. "And we can't reverse death, no matter how sad it makes us." I nod, sharing a glimpse at Wanda. "Some things are forever." I think back to Tony. And Nat. Even Peter for a while there.
"She said family is forever." Billy says and looks back at his mom.
"He is family." Tommy says. "Bring him back, Mom."
I shake my head at Wanda.
"Bring who back?" A familiar voice says behind me, making a bit of a chill run up my spine. I turn around to see Vision. Someone I haven't laid eyes on in years. Only he didn't look like Vision. He was human.
