In Pisces' Point of View
It's been two days and there was still no sign of another item. We were all keeping our eyes peeled for the last Water Sign's item: the Staff of Sands.
"Maybe we should head back," Cancer suggested after I nudged him. I won't lie, I miss doing my job even though it has only been a few days since we left. I guess I was homesick. But my home is in the sky...
"I agree," Aquarius nodded. I still hadn't gotten over the fact that he had an outburst the last two days. But not outburst in a bad way! His eyes sparkled and he smiled, and I could tell that our items had some sort of effect on everyone. Ever since then, though, he hasn't spoken.
I looked at Scorpio. I could tell he was mad that he didn't get to swim. I grinned at him, and he glared back.
"Well?" he whispered, pulling me aside from the group. "You 'got your item. It's been two days, why aren't you teasing me yet?"
"Hee hee... Are you quite sure you want me- of all people- to tease you?" I asked, about to pull on my evil face. There was only one person who can stop that side from getting out. Cancer stepped in and hit me and Scorpio on the head, "Stop it with the fighting."
Taurus looked at him in awe, "You can stop them from bickering? How cool is that!" she exclaimed, but then got distracted and said something else about the topic the others were talking about. I think it was how we were going to go back to our house when we don't even know where in the world it is.
But I wasn't paying attention and turned to Cancer. "Why should we?" I asked, giving him puppy-dog eyes.
"That doesn't work on any of us," Scorpio said, "So don't even try it." I rolled my eyes and grinned, "Whatever you say."
I think Capricorn had decided and invited all of us over to a group huddle. Except we were all standing apart. "Alright, here's the plan..."
~~~
Within a few minutes, we arrived back in the house. All of us looked tired, but I'd say it was me whose power was drained the most. I had used them to keep us from getting drowned. We had to go underwater instead of teleportation. Scorpio and Cancer helped, but Scorpio wasn't as strong as the two of us because we haven't found his item yet.
I dragged myself to the sofa, Cancer accompanying me on one side and Taurus helping me on the other.
"Thank you," I said, smiling. I wasn't surprised that Cancer wasn't as exhausted as I was, but I kept giving him questioning glances anyways. I didn't know the reason for his endurance, but I did have something else.
"Maybe you should sit down here for a bit," Cancer panted, giving me my item. It was a dazzling wand, a light blue frosty tip that fades into the darkest shade of blue. It was the Wand of Waters. I was enchanted for a fraction of a second and then I looked at him with gleaming eyes, "Okay."
We broke into groups to discuss where we should go next. I was grouped with my fellow water signs, Cancer and Scorpio. None of us spoke. The three of us were awkward at engaging conversations, but once they got started, it's our job to keep it going.
Scorpio pointed at Cancer, "Speak," he said.
So, Cancer spoke. "I think we should look in the Marine Aquatic Museum again."
"Wonderful idea! Scorpio's item may be there as well," I replied. "And we can enjoy looking at the fish as well," I added.
"Going to the museum is no excuse to look at fish. Don't you two work in that place?" Scorpio asked. I nodded. "Yes, and I think they'll be happy once they've seen us work again."
"But going there is no excuse to work either," Cancer argued, in a not-so-mad way. "We must find all twelve items, and we're not even sure if any of them are there."
"No excuse to work, he says" I repeated, shaking my head. "You just gave me an idea! Why don't we use our work as a disguise? Instead of having the Air Signs go in and out, or teleport, I think it would be more reasonable if we find it for ourselves."
"More specifically, I find it for myself," Scorpio corrected.
I looked at him as if he was crazy. "Always has to be center-stage with Scorpio. You're starting to sound like Aries, if you ask me," I told him. Scorpio's gaze told me he was being serious- he didn't need our help for this one.
"Alright then," Cancer said.
"But be careful," both of us added.
Scorpio nodded and quietly slipped through the window. The rays of sun that reflected on his back reassured that he would be alright. But would this still be his decision if Taurus was here to say no?
Cancer and I shared a look. We were both worried. The other nine kept asking us where Scorpio was, but we didn't utter a word. Not a one, and that's saying something. A girl who was as chatty as me was as quiet as a mouse.
But it worried us most that Scorpio didn't return the next day.
"Do you think we should go after him and check if he's alright?" I asked Cancer. The boy shook his head. My face fell. What could Scorpio be up to? What would happen if the twelve of us were separated for more than a day?
