A man more sinned than sinning
I know why the sun turns red in the desert
A man once set to see the rock of his life
He sat on a deserted rock
Standing in the midst of the cliff
It was the rock of ages
The river below smelt emptiness
It was as dead as a dodo
Partly yielding to hope
And holding onto it
He waited
Bur the rock of his life failed
Again
He looked in the far distant horizon for her to show up
But all that there was
Was a red sinking
And sing fast
The sum had now turned red
And the now dark hills....
swallowed it fast too
He still held the heart....
The heart that gave him the will
Close in his trembling palms!
Before a tear
that reflected on the dieing sun
Motionless
He watched it drop to the soil
And quick the dry earth
The next day,
His mother found him lying
Lying
And motionless!
She cried with grief
On burying her
The rock was sculpted and one letter
Deeper than the rest
"here lies the man who saw it all,
From the emptiness of the world
to the sun that will always stare in the red! "
