His song

The day of Sunday came, and you were quite excited for it. The day beforehand, Sammy finally admitted before leaving work that he was as excited too.

The day before

"Sammy!" You called, "You got a second?"

Sammy turned to face you, as he was packing his things to leave.

"Depends on how long a second is." He smirked continuing to walk to the exit door.

"Well I was thinking I can pick you up for our 'thing' tommorow." You swayed happily as the two of you walked together.

Sammy suddenly stopped in his tracks, his face flushed. "ahem, what?"

"We were planning to hang out tomorrow, remember?"

Sammy coughed, "Y-yeah! Um- no, no I'll be picking you up."

"I insist, you're overworked and you helped me. I just want to help you."

Sammy sighed, finally giving in to you. He tipped his head politely. "I'll see you then."

Leaving you to your cleaning, and to the studio all alone.

Present time

The knocking on your door grew louder, now what could that be? It was around noon. You had slept in later than expected.

"Coming!" You shouted, still putting in your earrings you decided to wear.

You ran to unlock the door, and Sammy stood there. Again. You rolled your eyes a bit annoyed he was there but you look down.

"I brought you these Y/N." Sammy smiled, handing you flowers. You chuckled, “I promised to come get you!”

Sammy only snickered, a you took the flowers into your hands. A mixture bouquet he most likely got at the local grocery store. But you took it as a kind gesture.

“I’m almost done getting ready, come in and get some water.”

Sammy nodded cautiously making his way inside your house. He had been wearing fancier clothes than his normal work clothes. A casual white button up and a black blazer he had only on his shoulders. With a black tie to match. With kaches. He dressed rather formally for a hangout.

You ran back into your room continuing to put on your makeup. And a nice black dress.

“Alright Mr. Lawrence, we should get going.” You smiled as you grabbed your bag and followed out the door. Sammy followed behind closely as the two of you locked up your house, and began to drive off.

You honestly just wanted Sammy to enjoy himself, whether that be doing nothing but chatting, or doing whatever the two of you could do with the lack of energy you both had.

You noticed an open sign on the local ice cream store, your eyes lit up as you screamed, “Pull over park here!” Like a child almost. Sammy rolled his eyes playfully, and parked on the side of the road.

You and Sammy walked over to the short line to buy the both of you the treat. Sammy kindly ordered for the both of you. Chocolate, for himself, and for you. Both in bowls. The two of you walked and talked as you both ate the ice cream.

You and sammy had gotten closer during this time luckily. Suddenly the sound of a piano and singing came from across from you and Sammy. Sammy’s eyes perked up from the floor to view the band concert in the plaza.

At this day and age, concerts were normal, bands of 3 or more usually played any new song. Encouraging change, or dollars to pay their own rent.

Sammy pulled you by the hand to the little band. The guitar case laid on the floor to employ they were i need of money. You pulled the leftover quarters from your pocket that sammy handed you, and gently put them in the case.

Sammy's eyes were in awe as he watched the band perform, his lips were blank, and he was just staring like a child at the band. You could tell he admired performances like these. You ate your ice cream, and threw the bowl away quickly, Sammy did the same.

You both stared at the band as they finished up their performance, he clapped his hands along to the rhythm. They took a quick break to recollect, and then continued playing another song.

“Oh! I know this one!” Sammy called. He grabbed your hand and smiled, “Care to dance Y/N?”

“Sammy- were in public.”

“I don't care, I want to dance with you.”

You smiled and nodded, as he pulled you and the two of you danced to a simple song. It was an instrumental song, most likely made by Beethoven or some popular pianist like that.

You both danced cheerfully towards each other. As your smile could not wipe off of your face. Sammy was smiling also, smiling at you, you hadn’t seen him smile like this before.

Both of you were having fun dancing with each other. Other people had joined you and Sammy and were dancing as well. Sammy was only focusing on you, and you were only focusing on him. After the song was over it seemed like Sammy had gotten a bit of inspiration from the song.

“You seemed to really have enjoyed that Sammy.”

“I did, seems like you had fun as well Y/N.” Sammy paused, “Wait, wait, That's it!”

“What?” You mumbled.

“I could use what I heard tonight and use it at the studio.” Your smile turned into an oversized frown. Annoyed with Sammy, you pushed off of him, stopping the dance between you.

“Don’t worry about the studio or work right now ok, let’s have some fun.”

You smiled at Sammy, pulling your hands on his shoulders. And looking him in the eyes. He grinned back at you smuggly.

The two of you continued on your walk, until the sunset. You were both back at your house, sitting on your rustic couch. Watching the Bendy animations, mostly because Sammy was too focused on work, even on his day off.

Sammy was dozing off already, but he turned to look at you and then back on the TV.

“What is it Sammy?” You asked.

“Today was my birthday.” He stared blankly at the TV.
“O-oh! Happy birthday Sammy!”

Sammy looked at you and grinned. “I spent it well this year. With you, Y/N.”

You both smiled at each other. The sun faded into the night, and you both carried on home. He casually dropped you off, and drove away. The moon shined bright above your head, smiling at the thought of spending his birthday together.
