    Mikey had no clue how he ended up going to college, let alone a prestigious one that only had an interest in "gifted" students, all he ever did was sleep through classes throughout middle and high school. Whatever the case, his grandfather refused to let him pass up on this opportunity especially when his slacker of a son was able to trick the system and benefit!

    Not once thinking of his future outside of running his gang of delinquents, that now ruled Tokyo, Mikey didn't know what to study so he randomly started courses for biology and chemistry. Maybe the classes were interesting, maybe the teacher had a way of keeping the students engaged, either way, Mikey slept through every class. Even though he only had to attend classes four days a week that wasn't enough to make Mikey pay attention.

    That was until you asked to be his table buddy after dealing with nonsense from the other students.

    While college is supposed to be mature and different from lower grades not much changed when it came to social hierarchies. For some reason, there just had to be cliques. Although you didn't care for them you still had to deal with their nonsense whenever you came to class.

    They'd make ridiculous comments, distract you from taking notes, and of course poke fun at your appearance no matter how well you dressed. Being the person you were it wasn't hard ignoring them but damn was it nerve-racking. So when you finally realized the slacker, Mikey, had an available seat near him you were quick to move seats.

    At first, he lifted his leg onto the chair to prevent you from sitting next to him. It wasn't because he disliked you or anything, it's just that you'd be complaining about his snoring and he didn't have the patience to put up with it. You shut him down by offering to bring him some food every class and giving him a copy of your notes. Since he slept through the lessons it didn't take a genius to know he'd be kicked out sooner or later.

    From then on Mikey shows up to class waiting for you to bring him a hot meal. No greetings or gestures, just an extended hand waiting for the promised goods. As you're focusing on the lecture he'd poke your shoulders, harshly, asking if you brought him seconds. You already told him no but he finds himself in love with your cooking so he pesters you until you give him your dessert.

    When you give him a copy of the notes at the end of the lecture he'd take them even though he didn't care for them only because it was part of the deal. Mikey didn't expect to read through each page. That night for the first time he learned about biochemistry and what that entails. All because he found that your handwriting was oddly addicting and he couldn't stop reading the notes.

    Nowadays Mikey is only showing up to get some food from you but eventually starts to listen in on your conversations. It's not meant to be creepy, he's just curious about you and your voice has become soothing to him. As you're rambling or exchanging concepts with your classmates Mikey tries to use your voice to lull himself to sleep but always winds up listening to the entire conversation.

    It isn't long until Mikey is staying awake and learning about science. Surprisingly enough, it's easy for him to catch on and piece the information together mostly thanks to all the notes you've given him. Pretty soon he starts to ask you for in-depth explanations for certain topics so you'd talk to him more often and maybe even start a friendship.

    Or at least that's why Mikey thought he was doing all those things.

    After witnessing their friend become invested in his courses and having to postpone hangouts for the sake of studying for an upcoming test, the founding members knew exactly what was happening. Manjiro Sano had a crush. Because there's no way he suddenly starts caring for his grades overnight for the hell of it. It isn't until they ask him about it that Mikey realizes that he has romantic feelings for you.
