It hasn't even been a full minute since Isabella and Senju finished the daily announcements before Mikey waltzed into the townhall for the fifth time this week. Emma left Nook to finish organizing the new resident files and made her way to the construction consultation counter.
"What is it this time Mikey?" She didn't even try to sound the least bit interested as her brother took his seat with a wide grin on his face.
"I want you to build a natural incline, gucci gucci"
"No"
"But it makes it easier to get up the cliffs and I keep forgetting my ladder" he slammed his fist on the counter in protest. He knew it'd be great for the island but every time he's asked for changes Emma would deny his requests
"Are you the island representative?"
"No but-"
"So until our Island Representative requests a natural incline, we are not building one, goodbye Mikey" with a huff Mikey leaves the office muttering complaints while Huck tries offering him a snack. As he's kicking up dirt on the narrow path to his home he spots you speaking to Tetta, who seems annoyed by your company. So it wasn't too hard to drag you away from your conversation.
"Build a natural incline"
"Well I have plans for the island and I'm not really sure if that's going to happen soon" Although his face was stoic you could tell he wasn't happy with your answer but you weren't going to let him nag you into building his incline.
"I like to sit at the top of the island and watch the sunlight reflect off the waters but it's hard for me to get up there nowadays, gucci gucci" his eyes softened while he explained his reasons and it seemed genuine, yet that wasn't enough to change your mind.
"Oh and I found this on the way here" Huck pulls out the blue hanging scroll that has a painting of a fish. It cost a hundred and forty thousand bells. Mikey saw you trying to buy the green one yesterday but you were short a hundred thousand bells. It wasn't the same color but it'd do the trick.
"Alright, I'll build it" you held up the scroll and admired it as Mikey and Huck ran home to celebrate their success.
