The sunlight pierced through my eyelids as I slowly opened them and rubbed my eyes. I had a blanket draped over me, which I was sure I didn't have the night before. My glasses were also placed on the coffee table, though I remember falling asleep with them on.
The apartment was empty. I checked my phone and realised it was Saturday - Bright must have already gone to work. I put on my glasses and got up from the sofa to stretch, and saw that there was something placed on the dining table.
There was a plate of toast and scrambled eggs, and a cup of instant coffee that was still piping hot. There was also a note left on the table.
Enjoy the breakfast! I have also left an extra brand new toothbrush (it's the green one!) in the bathroom for you, so that you can freshen up before you leave. There is also a set of clothes on the bathroom counter for you to change into - i accidentally drooled onto your shirt yesterday, so i thought that you might prefer to have a set of clean clothes. Sorry about that. :(
P.S i don't have a coffee machine, so please bear with the instant coffee this time.
I kept the note in my pocket as I didn't want to throw it away. I decided to finish the food first before it got cold, and needless to say it was perfect and just how I liked it. It was made by the same person, after all. Even the instant coffee tasted good too.
When I was done, I washed the dishes and cautiously looked around for the bathroom. When I stepped in, I immediately noticed the light green toothbrush that was placed in a cat paw holder, beside a white toothbrush. There was also a forest green sweatshirt and black sweatpants folded neatly on the counter top, which was the set of clothes that Bright left out for me.
It reminded me of a conversation we had one time.
"Where did you purchase this plate from? It's cute." I asked when Bright came over to clear the table after I was done.
"We've had these plates for a pretty long time so I can't remember. Why? You like it?" He said while laughing.
"Of course, green is the best color for anything."
I quickly washed up, changed into his clothes and stuffed my own clothes into my bag, then looked around the house for Ame. I found her stretched out on Bright's bed, lying on her back.
I tiptoed into the room and pet her for bit. I lightly kissed the top of her fuzzy head, to which she meowed softly. "Goodbye little princess, I'll come by again soon."
I quickly went home to prepare and headed out again. My friends and I had planned to go fishing today, and I was already running late as I had forgotten to set my alarm. "Always the last to come. We should really set a punishment for latecomers next time." Mike said when I finally reached.
"I ran here as fast as I could." I said while panting.
"Let's go." Love said as she led the way to our usual fishing spot.
We set up our fishing rods, while Gun and Love stayed behind nearby to set up a picnic mat as they weren't fond of fishing. Me, Dew and Mike sat by the river, catching up while we waited for the fish to take our bait.
"Are you guys still in the same company?" Mike asked. Dew nodded, and explained that we worked in the same office too.
"That must be nice, being able to work with each other." Mike says, laughing.
"No, he's so annoying. He keeps bugging me to buy him fried chicken all the time." I blew a raspberry at Dew, who made a sulky face at my reply.
"It's been a million years and you're still not sick of that fried chicken?" Mike says, shaking his head.
