Chapter 18

"I thought she'd never leave," Blake says as she exits the bathroom.

I'm still standing in the middle of the room, shaking hands clenched at my sides as I stare at the door that closed only a minute ago after my ex best friend left. Slowly, I open my fists and watch as they tremble. My eyes dart to the pillow where I know my pills are hidden.

Blake steps into my field of view. "Here," she hands me a cigarette. I give her a questioning look, but she just shrugs. "You had a pill only a little while ago. This will help the shaking for now and the guys are bringing booze and weed tonight. You'll get your fix, but you don't have to get it all from one place."

Her logic makes sense, so I take the stick and lighter from her and light it up. I take a drag and try not to cough. "Sorry about her."

"I don't care," Blake says with a shrug. She stares at me apprehensively before continuing. "You really don't want to be mates with the alpha?" I shake my head. "I can tell you how to get rid of the bond."

My eyes widen. "Really? You can do that?"

She nods, gently clasping my wrist as she drags me over to the bed. "But first," she says, pushing me down onto the mattress after tugging the cigarette from me and snuffing it on her jeans. Blake pulls her body up flat against mine and uses her toned muscles to place herself in between my legs while holding most of her body weight off of me. Her breath tickles my ear as she whispers. "Have you ever been with a woman?" A shaky 'no' escapes me. "Kissed one?"

I think back to the party when Maggie kissed me as a dare. "Once. At the last party here. Maggie kissed me on a dare."

"Doesn't count."

"Then, no."

Blake pulls back, looking into my eyes. "Do you want to?"

My heart flutters in my chest. Do I? Would I be feeling like this if I didn't want to? I can feel my blood rushing due to the fast pace of the organ nestled in my chest. It charges forward like a race horse, and I swear stars float around my vision. Questions flash through my over-active mind of Alexander and the consequences he might try to enforce.

Who cares about the guy who can't even be bothered to check on me?

"Yes."

"Do it."

Her words make me waiver. She sounds so confident, so sure, and I have no idea what I'm doing. Is kissing a woman different than kissing a man?

I want to find out.

Without another thought, I wrap my arms around her neck and pull her to me.

I'm rushed and out of my element, so the aim is a little off. My lips catch hers on the side and I try to pull back in embarrassment. Blake doesn't seem to care, though, and smiles against my mouth. She brings one hand to my chin, having to put more weight on me as she looses support. The pressure makes me gasp and she uses the opportunity to latch on to my lips evenly. The kiss seals.

We stay still for a minute, relishing in the butterflies fluttering between us. I find my confidence and start to move. The rhythm creates itself as we flow together almost seamlessly. With the jitters out of the way, we're able to explore each other without interruption.

There's all the time in the world for us, it seems, as we test the waters and discover new things the other likes. I nip her bottom lip and a second later she licks mine. She clasps my tongue in her mouth and sucks after mine caresses hers.
