Jade's shadow traveled back to her hotel room. She was covered in the witches' blood and thought it would be better to avoid people. The last thing Jade wanted to deal with was the authorities. Jade quickly got undressed and threw her bloody clothes into the garbage, and got in the shower. As Jade showered, she thought about the events of the day. She knew that Klaus had recognized her abilities, and eventually, he would make his way to the hotel to look for answers. What would Jade tell him? Or would Jade tell Klaus anything at all?

Jade could lie to Klaus. She knew how to control her heart rate so she wouldn't give herself away, and Jade was positive Klaus had no idea how to pick up the scent of a lie. Werewolves weren't shown how to do that. His instincts were underdeveloped, so there was no problem there. Jade had no intention of exposing the Mutant world to a man she didn't trust, even if he was her mate. Klaus Mikaelson had not earned that privilege.

Jade extended her claws and washed the witches' blood off them. It wasn't necessary, but the blood of witches always disgusted her. Once she finished her shower, Jade got out, dried off, and dressed; she dried her hair and then went into the bedroom to lie down and watch a bit of TV. She wondered if Klaus would show up today or not.

Meanwhile, Klaus and Elijah left the cemetery in a daze. The two Originals were used to death, but they had never seen witches cut down with such precision and skill; yet at the same time, there was a sense of barely contained rage and savagery. They walked to the car in silence and left the cemetery. Elijah would glance at Klaus occasionally to see his reaction, but Klaus only stared out the window.

“When will you confront her?” Elijah asked.

“Tonight. I need to know how she knew where we were and why she helped us. But you cannot breathe of what happened to a soul, not even Rebekah.”

“You have my word, Brother.”

Elijah understood that if this witch, or whatever she was, could do things like that, there was no telling what else she could do, and someone could use her against them. The rest of the ride home was silent as each contemplated their thoughts.

Meanwhile, at the hotel, Jade decided she couldn't stay there anymore. She may have wanted to talk to Klaus, but that was not a headache she was prepared to face. So, Jade called Remy and told him what had happened.

“You're telling me that your mate is supernatural?”

Jade rolled her eyes, “Yes, Remy, now I'm trapped here. You've heard my dad talk. He hated being away from my mother. He could, but it hurt him too much. But I thought that I didn't have to live in the French Quarter; I could stay in a different part of New Orleans, out of his territory. As long as we're in the same city, it should be fine, shouldn't it?”

“I don't know, Petit, but it's worth a shot. Where are you going to move to?”

“A more modern part of the city. I only have to find a place.”
