A weekover (Part 5)

The next day, you could hear the sound of the stairs creaking loudly as Licorice slowly came down to wake up Chili Pepper like Dark Enchantress instructed him to. He tiredly looked down at Chili Pepper. She looked like she was into a very good dream. He slowly put his hand on her forehead and gently shook it while saying her name numerous times. She finally woke up in surprised. He stared at her with his tired, baggy eyes and then said "Sorry to disturb you, but mom wants you off the couch". He watched as Chili Pepper rolled on the floor in disappointment and whimpered "...it was just a dream". Licorice rubbed his tired eyes "hm? What was it about? You looked like you were really enjoying it" he asked. "N-Nothing!" Chili Pepper stuttered.

Licorice stared at her, and it made her feel a bit cold. "Alright. Uhm... well, I didn't really have a good dream" he mumbled. "Nightmare?" Chili Pepper asked, getting up onto the couch. "No, no, not a nightmare, just... a really weird dream" Licorice said. "Well. Spill it!" Chili Pepper said eagerly. "Well... I dunno, you didn't tell me your dream..." Licorice mumbled. "I said SPILL IT, emo boy!" Chili Pepper exclaimed. "Fine... so basically, I woke up in a field of clovers. Beautiful, fresh clovers. Then I looked up in the sky and watched it as it turned dark red. Pomegranates started falling out the sky and taking out all the clovers and then the field was empty and it felt so cold and lonely" he explained. "Hm, that really is a weird dream" Chili Pepper chuckled. "Yeah, but... I can't help but think it means something..." Licorice mumbled.

"So, Clover Cookie, where are we going today?" asked a voice from upstairs. Both Pomegranate and Clover were walking down the stairs. Pomegranate had her arm wrapped around his. "Uhm... I dunno, is the park... good?" Clover awkwardly smiled. "Hmph. How basic" Pomegranate mumbled under her breath. "Where are you two love birds going in such a hurry?" Chili Pepper chuckled. "Out. That's all you need to know" Pomegranate firmly said. "Sheesh, okay, no need to have an attitude" Chili Pepper said.

They watched as Pomegranate pulled Clover outside the door. Chili Pepper turned to Licorice who looked unhappy like yesterday. "Why so glum, chum?" Chili Pepper asked him. "Huh? Uhm, it's nothing" Licorice mumbled. Chili Pepper lifted her eyebrow and smirked at him. "Huh...? Hey why're you giving me that look!?" he exclaimed. "I think I know why you had that weird dream last night. You got a lil crushy on the Clover boy but Cranberry head is taking him away from you and it's making you feel so lonely" she smirked. "Wha!? I-I don't have a crush on him! I mean, he's adorable, but..." Licorice quickly covered his mouth and Chili Pepper's smirk grew wider. "Adorable?" she crossed her arms. "I DIDN'T MEAN TO SAY THAT!!" Licorice shouted, turning bright red. "Aww, the emo boy's in love" she teased. "I'M NOT IN LOVE!" he shouted more.

Just then, they heard an echoing clap that chilled their spines. "Silence! You fools are going to wake the others, and it's going to stress me out!" Dark Enchantress boomed. "...mommy?" said a voice that walked behind her. It was Poison Mushroom Cookie. "Look what you two did" she growled, and then picked them up. "Oh, poor child. Did they interrupt your slumber?" The two of them watched as she carried the little one away. "Sooooo, anyways, you're in love with Clover" Chili Pepper smirked. "Okay fine, maybe I do like him, but it's not a big deal" Licorice crossed his arms. "Uhh, yuh! It IS a big deal! You getting all depressed because your dumb sister's harassing him" Chili Pepper said.

"It doesn't matter!" Licorice shouted. "Well it certainly matters to you, Mr. Lonely" Chili Pepper said. "Just forget it! I can't just take him away from my sister. She'll tell mom, and then I'll get in trouble. Besides, Clover probably doesn't even like me like that" Licorice mumbled. "You don't know that, emo boy. Ever wondered why he wouldn't lemme take your money?" Chili Pepper smirked. "Actually, no, and I'm still kinda salty about that" Licorice grumbled.

"Oh get over it, emo boy. Say, I have a question: if you can just steal things from a store, then how come you need money to buy your lunch?" Chili Pepper asked. "The last time I did that, it was a huge mistake. My mother got called to the school and she fought with the principal. She lost the argument unfortunately and has to give us money to buy our lunch, since she can't bother making lunch for us... well, she makes lunch for Pomegranate" he explained. "Why specifically for Cranberry head?" Chili Pepper asked. "She's... ugh... the favorite child" Licorice rolled his eyes. "Ohh, now I see" Chili Pepper said.

Just then, tiny steps came running down the stairs. It was Poison Mushroom again, and they ran in front of Licorice. Licorice picked them up, sat them on his lap, and rubbed their hair. Because he did that, poisonous fumes and spores flew into the air. Chili Pepper coughed and backed up. "Geez, how are you even okay with holding that thing!?" she shouted. "'Thing'?? They aren't a 'THING', for your information! They're a stress reliever, a true friend" Licorice hugged them. "More like a ticking time bomb waiting to blow up in this room and suffocate us" Chili Pepper mumbled. Licorice just scoffed at her.

Just then, the door flew wide open and slammed the wall. In came Clover, who looked scared for his life. He jumped behind the couch where Licorice and Chili Pepper were sitting. He had red lipstick all over his face and was trembling. "WHAT'S WITH THE NOISE!?" Dark Enchantress yelled out until she saw Pomegranate walk in. "Oh hello dear, you're home so soon. How was your date?" she asked, changing her tone. "It was... fine, mother" Pomegranate said, discontent. Chili Pepper, Licorice and Poison Mushroom stared at the poor scared cookie. "So... many... kisses..." he trembled. Pomegranate looked over the couch at him. "You're not very cooperative, are you?" she shook her head. Clover didn't say anything, for he was too terrified. She gave him a look and left him. Silence filled the room until Chili Pepper asked Clover how his date went. "It was... fine, at first. I took her to the park and bought her some ice cream, I mean, that's a good start, right...? But then when I accidentally got ice cream on my cheek, she kissed it, and then... she chased me, I guess to try and get me to kiss her back?" Clover explained and then went back to trembling.

No one really knew what to do, or what to say to him. They turned around to hear that booming clap from the stairs again. As Dark Enchantress slowly came down the stairs, she didn't look very pleased. "My daughter is not satisfied about her date" growled Dark Enchantress. She leaned over the couch, making everyone back away from her in fear. "I expect better from you, Clover Cookie" she snarled. "Y-Yes ma'am..." he stuttered. As she went back upstairs, Chili Pepper asked "is she... is she always like this?" Licorice nodded. Once Clover regained his strength, he climbed onto the couch and leaned onto Licorice. Licorice jumped and turned red. He noticed Chili Pepper smirking and then mouthed "stop" at her, but that only made her smirk grow wider.

"Ya know, Clover boy, I think there's someone else who you'd probably like to date that's way better than dumb ol' Cranberry head" Chili Pepper smirked at Clover. "Huh?" Clover said, confused. "U-Uhm, did anyone get breakfast!? I know I didn't, I'll make cereal right now!" Licorice stuttered. He rushed to the kitchen and pulled Chili Pepper with him. "Can you not?" he grumbled at her. "What?" she smirked. The whole convo they had with each other confused Clover cookie a lot.
