Spare Me Over 'Til Another Year (An SMG4 AU Short Story)

Chapter 2 : The Difference

Zero twitched for a moment as she began to digest inside him. He laughed maniacally. Smg4 took a few quick yet deep breaths.
"What's so funny?"
"That girl! I can feel her power caressing my body! She is succumbing to the darkness, she isn't trying to fight back. And now she's gone, her power is starting to leave her carcass."
"That.. No.."
Mario frowns, Smg3 takes a look at him.
"Well that's new."
"What is?"
"You're crying."
Smg4 took a look at him and raises his eyebrows.
"Holy shit you are."
"Is that such a big problem guys?!"
"I mean I get it. You were like a father to her."
"Yeah exactly."
Zero leaned toward the three men.
"That's the difference between me and you. See, I've grown to not let ones I love weaken me."
He grabs Smg4 and 3 in a tight grasp. Mario stared at the sight in horror.
"Dragging yourself down because of the ones you care about doesn't get you to succeed in life. Like right now."
He squeezed the men tightly, they could hear their ribs cracking.
"And I will succeed by not letting Smg0 stop me from taking over your world!"
Suddenly the two men's arms stopped struggling and fell limp to the side.  Blood began oozing out of their mouths, dripping onto their clothes. Blood was also dripping from their mid-torso down, as if with just one squeeze, Zero had split them both in half. Mario covered his mouth, he felt the urge to vomit. Zero began to cackle before swallowing them both whole, letting them suffer the same fate Melony did. His one eye turned to Mario. He had felt helpless against God himself.
"And as for you.."
He grabbed him and pulled him toward his face.
"You're my key ingredient to a perfect world under my rule.
Mario kicked and pushed, but to no avail.
"Damn you! Go to hell!"
"Where do you think I come from?"
Everything suddenly went to black.
