SUMMARY
It all started innocently enough: when Fred Weasley breaks Rosalie's heart, her best friend is left to pick up the pieces with a stolen bottle of Firewhisky, one-too-many tubs of cookie dough ice cream and endless tears.

It ends with the first, worst and only hangover Rosie has ever had and some murky memories of making a joke of pretending to hex Fred Weasley with bad luck sometime around three in the morning.

Rosie doesn't think much of it; she spends the summer focusing on herself, healing, successfully pretending she is totally over Fred during the Quidditch World Cup she once thought they might go to as a couple and when Hogwarts rolls around she is pretty confident that she can make him believe she's put it all behind her when it reality she isn't sure if his face makes her want to cry or punch something.

And then, things start becoming... weird.

Massive detendion within the first week, spells that Fred had down in his sleep that just won't do anymore, the most disastrous effect of an Aging Potion that just won't wear off for days no matter what Madam Pomfrey does and suddenly, Rosie realises that maybe pretend hexing her ex might not have been all that much pretend after all.

And she's not entirely sure what to do with that realisation.

OR: So, Rosie totally did not mean to hex Fred Weasley after their break-up but evidently... she did.

NOTES━
🏹An older plot of mine with a premise that's obviously come into existence when I started reading The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling a few months ago.
🏹This is a more lighthearted plot and I don't have much planned for it. What House Rosie is part of is up to you, it's not really crutial to the initial premise.
🏹Basically what happens is that Rosie & Fred are together and sometime before the summer break between PoA and GoF they break up. The reason for that is up to you but I think it should be something that (at least from Rosie's perspective) is Fred's fault. Whether that was some big fight or just fifteen-year old idiots being fifteen-year old idiots (like breaking up to focus wholly on his joke products without really thinking it through or something) is also up to you. And when Rosie is crying in her dorm her best friend decides to console her with a girls night and cursing Fred Weasley's name and somewhere in between they end up actually cursing Fred's name without realizing it or thinking the ritual had any sort of legitimate weight behind it.
🏹The effects for Fred are starting to pile up more or less immediately: Molly discovers their joke products and busts them, forbidding them from working on them, they lose their money thanks to Ludo Bagman pulling one over on them with Leprechaun gold, they get into detention right at the beginning of term and so on and eventually it just clicks for Rosie that, yeah, maybe it was a legitimate ritual and she did curse Fred with bad luck.
🏹Lifting the hex will be tricky since it wasn't done by the book and rather by the mood of two fifteen-year old girls babbling soemthing they thought would be justice enough to appease Rosie's broken heart and punish Fred but didn't really think would mean anything. Which means that there isn't exactly a textbook solution the teachers could use. If they'd know. Rosie will be damned if she gets Dumbledore invovled in this if she can't help it.
🏹How the two rekindle their relationship (or if) is up to you. Maybe Fred figures out he's been cursed and confronts Rosie about it and demands her help or Rosie feels bad and decides to help him by finding a way to lift the hex is up to you. In terms of timeline I had the idea that that's what happens in GoF and by the time summer comes around, they have found a way to reverse the curse (evidence coming in form of Harry donating his Triwizard Tournament winnings to the twins). But really, how we get there and what happens from there is up to you.
🏹While I like her first name and the title, if you have something else in mind please dm me and we can have a chat if I'm willing to make a change. You can alter her last name however you see fit, I'm not particularly attached to it.
