SUMMARY━ Jeanette Weasley has one big problem, and it comes in form of a cat-worshipping pink nightmare decked in atrocious clothes.
When her latest Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher promply shuts down the little side-business of tailoring clothes she has going on with Parvati Patil from out of their dorm room in the Gryffindor tower, ending her steady flow of cash income in the process, she decides that while the return of You-Know-Who is pressing, and all, Dolore Umbridge is what needs to be dealt with!
And she finds the allies she needs in the Patil twins. Parvati, who has been her partner in (literal) crime for the past two years ever since they first came up with their little idea of a side hustle, promply brings Padma in to help them in their masterplan to get Umbridge sacked from school at the earliest convenience.
And Jeanette soon learns that while Parvati and her are a match made in heaven, Padma and her are a match made in hell.
And they're about to bring hell to Dolores Umbridge.

NOTES━ 🏹this is such a mess, but!! basically jeanette is ron's twin and she's parvati's dorm mate. when they're in year two-ish jean mentiones off-hand that her personal passion is making and altering clothes (courtesy of molly weasley teaching her absolutely every piece of knowledge she has about sewing and tailoring since she's the first daughter (and at that time only) she has and later ginny has absolutely no interest in it) and when parvati mentions her own dreams of one day running her own business designing clothes, it's a match made in heaven. before long, they're known in the female student body throughout the entire castle. a rather nice plus is that jean is getting some money. padma gets the clients and the materials, they get their ideas for the alterations together and jean makes them and then they split both the expenses and income. 🏹parvati also goes off on ron's idiocy after the yule ball fourth year on behalf of her twin. jean in turn gives ron an earful. 🏹padma herself is the more grounded twin, she's a prefect and in ravenclaw. i personally like the idea of padma wanting to be a journalist (rita skeeter's existence is a personal offence to padma) and when umbridge ends parvati and jean's business she decides to make use of her interests and expose umbridge with them and get her sacked. especially since neither of the three can stand the woman 🏹jean is pretty headstrong! she's got seven brothers and her little sister is a menace, she needs to be. padma is a bit of her grounding force to not always run headlong into something without thinking. jean also loves cats. she's been trying to talk molly into letting her have one for ages. it only gets worse with crookshanks. 🏹when the letter comes informing the weasley's of jean's little business (and the suspension umbridge unsuccessfully threatens them with) molly is aghast. she gets war flashbacks from busting fred and george's products before the world cup. she just wants her children to focus on their owls and not outlandish dreams of business set to fail damnit! arthus is amused, charlie and bill celebrate her like some sort of hero and fred and george think it's the funniest shit in the world. ron's just ,,, accepting it. he knows jean. it's absolutely no surprise to him. ginny likely has been helping them as a delivery service against a tiny sum for ages now. 🏹jean most definitely made her own dress for the yule ball and also most definitely was in charge of helping hermione with her own clothes. fourth year was ridiculously lucrative for parvati and jean with the extra number of students in the delegations from beauxbatons and durmstrang (the beauxbatons students were horrified at letting fourteen year old teenagers alter their clothes, then absolutely ecstatic when they get the first results back). the weeks leading up to the yule ball were the most stressful days of her life. they also kept their little business afloat for months in advance 🏹jean would totally be the person to get a tattoo or a piercing or a haircut or something because of the ~aesthetic~ (you don't understand mum, it's for the fashion!!) 🏹you're free to change her first name & the title if you want but dm me beforehand so we can check if it fits!
