Haruno Sakura was in love. Madly in love.
It wasn't exactly the type of "in love" That'd fade after some time. Not just a "hallway crush" as Ino called it. Sakura never had a hallway crush, she couldn’t seem to understand it.
Or having more than one person you like. How can people see someone and just decide to be in love with them. She has seen enough people she'd describe as "good-looking", "handsome", "pretty". However, those people never made her feel the way she did around him.Even standing next to him would make her heart beat faster.
Talking to him would make her cheeks turn bright red, though there were hardly any times they'd get the chance to exchange even a few word. And even when they did, he always seemed to try to end the conversation quicker. This was one-sided love. She was sure.

Sakura skipped across the streets. Academy classes had just ended, the sun making it's way to it's highest point. She knew, the sun wasn't actually "going up". Therfore, it can't reach a "highest point". The idea of the sun circling the earth came from humanity believing into this planet being the center of everything.
But she liked the saying. Finally, the 12 year old reached her destination; an abandoned training ground. Well, it never really was a "training ground", considering they couldn't build one here due to the shape of the ground. There was a hill in the middle of the place.
Usually, they'd jut adjust the whole thing a bit but for some strange reason, no jutsu could do so. People described it as a huge "boulder" blocking the way of their chakra. They had to use 24 men to move the "boulder" just slightly.
The result was a wall of stone built around the place. An entrance was purposely not added to prevent any people to come in. Although Shinobi are still able to do so, there's almost no person to know about the training ground.Even Sakura herself only discovered it by accident. Now, it was her new safespace, a place she'd use to spend time away from everyone.
As she was laying in the shadow of a nearby tree on top of the hill, she closed her eyes. Sakura liked the idea of being completely alone. Sometimes, she'd imagine that she was the last human left on earth, no people, no problems.
Nothing. Her moment was interrupted by a sudden presence, nearing her from the other side of the grass hill. Just as she was about to leave the place, her eyes spotted raven hair. That could only mean one thing.
She sat straight up and brushed her hair behind her ears, trying to not look ugly after laying on grass.
It was still a bit confusing to have short hair. She got the cut last week.|||
Sasuke jumped a bit upon seeing the girl sitting under a tree. He had just wanted to pass some time. At home it just felt too quiet ever since it happened. This weird place surrounded by a wall seemed perfect.
But he certainly didn't expect her to be there.

Sakura cleared her throat.
"Um... It seems like we chose the same place to rest?"
The Uchiha remained a cool face. Just as usual.
"Seems like it." A short answer. Again, just as it's always. He never says anything without getting ask-"Do you mind if I sat down? It's pretty hot here..." He said out of the sudden.
Now this wasn't "usual".
Sakura's heart was racing. She had always tried to remain calm when talking to him. Sasuke doesn't like girls that stutter.
Eventually, she got a hang of what to say. Sasuke's next actions were "predictable" in that way. This was the first time he ever said something that wasn't an answer, let alone a question.
"Of- Of course!" She said in a way too high-pitched voice. Sakura immediately shut her mouth.
Now he probably doesn't want to sit here. I shouldn’t have done that I'm stupid. She flinched at Sasuke sitting down right next to her. Right. Next. To. Her.
He Inner voice was screaming. That was the closest she ever got to him.Once her excitement calmed down, she noticed that he was staring at her. Since when was he doing that?
Oh no. Did he notice anything? If so-
And again, the boy did something completely out of ordinary."You- your hair looks pretty."
Did she just hear him stutter? Him? Uchiha Sasuke? The one that expressed almost no emotions? And now he was complementing someone like her?
Her head shot to the other side to hide her face that was getting more red than it already was. Slowly, she took a peak to the side.
Sakura let out a gasp.
What?

And even when they did, he always seemed to try to end the conversation quicker. She wondered if that could have another reason besides the Uchiha not liking her. In all her books, they said avoiding is a sign of dislike or even hate. But she wasn’t convinced. Sasuke didn't exactly "hate" her. Rather it was something different.
This was one-sided love. But she wasn’t too sure about that.
That small smile she saw on him that day had to mean something.|||
