Elijah's POV

"I cannot believe this" I said whilst shaking my head at Clarence.

"Stop worrying" Clarence said rubbing my arm after handing me my boarding pass.

"Flight 803 to Boston, Massachusetts is now boarding" a voice coming from the ceiling announced.

"Who said that?" I asked Clarence whilst looking around trying to find the owner of this mysterious voice.

"It came from a speaker Elijah" Clarence said whilst rolling his eyes.

"By the Goddess maybe it was a bad idea to send you, you're sticking out like a sore thumb" he said whilst stifling a laugh

Ouch.

"Of course it was Clarence, I haven't left the palace grounds in 150 years, this is all foreign to me" I said whilst we queued to board a huge metal bird that supposedly is going to take us across the Atlantic.

Whilst observing my surroundings I spotted a mirror which reminded me of attire I'm in.

"I don't see why I couldn't wear my royal armour Clarence, I feel like a fool in these human clothes" I whispered lowly so only he could hear.

"Trust me your grace, you'd look more of a fool wearing your armour here then you would a leather jacket" he said rolling his eyes.

If this man rolls his eyes at me once more I'm going to lose it.

"How so? It's brilliant" I said puzzled. Why would the humans think it weird of a man to wear his royal armour at an airport?

"We're not having this conversation again Elijah, it's for the same reasons you couldn't bring your sword and crossbow either. Lexa is going to meet us at the port with our belongings" Clarence explained.

"Now, let's just board the flight so you can begin thinking of what you'll say at the summit" he added.

By the Goddess, what am I going to say?

Flashback - 3rd Person POV

"You go instead" Romain stated

The others went silent.

"Are you joking?" Elijah said, trying his best to keep a respectful tone when addressing his superior.

"Wait, that's a great idea" Anna said surprised.

Romain smiled and he stood up straighter, happy that he's Queen complimented him.

"No, no it is not" Elijah said sternly, hoping to convince his sister otherwise.

"No he has a point" Clarence added.

"How?"

"Well, you received all the same training in diplomatic relations as your sister did whilst growing up" Clarence explained whilst pouring himself a tea cup of blood.

"In fact, you did even better than me in the politics and international relations test" Anna said, turning to face her brother.

"That was over 400 years ago Anna" Elijah said putting a hand to his forehead in frustration.

"It doesn't matter what I got in the test. This is one of the most important meetings you've ever had and you want to send me in your place. I have no experience in politics. What will the savages think to see a member of the Queens Guard at a summit? They may think you're afraid and question your rule" Elijah said, trying to find a way around this mad idea.
