Y/N's Pov

I walk through the halls of the laminax facility, holding a bat tightly as i head towards the shark pool, ofcourse i thought it was such a smart idea to go there during a blackout but hey! Thats where Lantern Shork is so its fine, after some walking i make it to the shark pool and immediately get water splashed onto me, i look in the direction of the water splash and see Lantern Shork, i smile and go over to him happily, soon being enveloped in a hug.

"Hello to you too Glowstick-" i say, chuckling, getting hit in the shoulder lightly right after. "Hey! What did i say about you calling me a glowstick?" I hear Lantern complain, as i just pat him on the head gently, "Chill, you know i like joking about with that nickname" i respond, giving a small smile towards the softly glowing shark gootraxian.

Lantern Shork's Pov

I watch Y/N smile and cant help but return the smile, my tail wagging like a dog a little bit, that moment was short lived though as some hunters ran past us full sprint, soon we both heard a high pitched screech and i panic a bit, grabbing Y/N and dragging them into the water, forgetting momentarily that they arent a gootraxian as we watch Nightcrawler run past us, chasing after the hunters, i turn to Y/N once nightcrawler was gone and gasp, panicking more, i only now realised i had held onto them too long and had accidentally started to infect them, i pull them up to the surface and try to get the goo off but it just wouldn't budge.

I feel myself tear up as i curse under my breath, feeling my breathing pick up as i started going into a full blown panic attack, "i-i didnt want this to happen, i just wanted to protect my friend but in turn i ended up infecting them! I should have been more careful i- i caused this!" I said, not realising i was saying all this out loud, my chest hurt and tears flowed down my cheeks as i sat in the water, barely seeing or hearing anything around me, i go to scratch at my arms to ground myself but instead am met with both my hands being held by anothers, "Lantern.. Lantern Shork! Hey! Can you name 5 things you can see for me..?" I hear Y/N say as i nod, looking around slowly, "uh.. you.. water, my tail.. my hands and the purple glow fr-from my body.." i say quietly, my tears subsiding a bit now, "okay.. good, now 4 things you can touch", i take a moment before responding, "your hands.. my tail, the water and.. a slime pup..?" I say cautiously, "your doing good Lantern.. now 3 things you can hear", i hear Y/N say again as they move to sit infront of me and continue to hold my hands, "uh.. the water moving around.. our breathing and the Nightcrawler in the distance.." i respond quietly, my tail pressed against my body and lap more, "and now 2 things you can smell..", i look around, now noticing the slime pup sitting next to me, looking worried, "uh.. blood and lemons.." i say as i move one hand to pat the ghost slime pup, "and.. i can taste the water.." i add on quietly before Y/N could speak again as i watch the Ghost pup climb onto my lap and lay there as if to keep me calm.

"okay.. now that your calm.. Lantern i dont want you to feel guilty or upset about what happened.." i hear Y/N say as they place one hand on my cheek, making me look at their now Gootraxian self. "Im still sorry about it though.. if it wasn't for me you wouldn't be like this.." i mumble quietly, "Yes, but if you didnt do this i would have gotten seriously hurt by that Nightcrawler.." Y/N said, with a soft and comforting tone, i smile a bit and nod, "I suppose your right.. thanks for helping me feel better about the situation Y/N.." i say softly, getting surprised with a hug.
