Scarlets POV
I grabbed my suitcase and walked out the office.

"Bye Miss. Steel." The secretary said to me.

"Good bye." I smiled and walked out the building to my car. I got in and drove to my apartment.

I walked up to my apartment room and opened the door. I'm not in college anymore. My dad thought it would be better if I dropped out since I work full time at the office. I sat on the couch and checked my phone and had a message from my dad.

*Dinner Party @8 tonight wear something nice.*

I groaned and walked to my bathroom. I looked in the mirror and sighed at the bags under my eyes. I'm so tired but I need to go to this dinner. I put on a burgundy dress and nude heels with my necklace my dad got me months ago and put two pieces of hair back. (a/n picture of her outfit I guess where pictures are)

I grabbed my phone and walked out the apartment. It was 7:30. I looked at the address and put it in my phone and began to drive.

"Hey honey." My dad said with a smile.

"Hey dad." I said to him.

"You look nice." He said while giving me a side hug.

"Thanks." I said with a cheeky smile.

We walked over to a group of people.

"This is my daughter Scarlet Steel." He said to the group.

I waved awkwardly and they all greeted me.

"I want you to meet someone." He told me while guiding me over to a guy.

"Um okay." I said.

The guy turned around and my eyes widened.

"Oh hi Mr. Steel." He smiled.

He has a gorgeous smile.

"Hi this is my daughter Scarlet, Scarlet this is Luke." He said to both of us.

"Hi I'm Luke Brooks." He said with a beautiful smile.

I shook his hand, "Scarlet Steel, well my dad just said that but I guess I'll just say it."

Really Scarlet!

"I'll leave you guys to talk." My dad said then walked away.

"Um so you work for your dad?" He asked.

"Yeah, you?" I asked.

"Um I work in the same building as you actually but for an internship I actually go to the University of California." He told me.

"Really I go there, well used to go there my dad told me it would be best if I dropped out I really didn't want to but it was best for my future." I said to him.

He watched me the whole time he seemed so interested in me.

"Hey since you used to go there maybe you can come to a party there with me." He exclaimed.

"Oh I don't know I haven't been to one in a while." I said to him.

"Oh come on, it will be fun trust me!" He begged.

"Oh alright." I smiled.

"Yes!" He exclaimed.

I gave him my phone and he put in his contact and I took his phone and put in mine.

"Really Lukie pookie?" I laughed.

"Yup." He smiled.

I laughed and we walked over to the table to eat.
