I fell asleep, but at midnight, I heard something calling my name. "Steve! Come downstairs!" It said in a singsong voice. My mind was saying, "Oh hell nah," But my legs said otherwise. I went downstairs and what I saw will blow your mind. IT WAS A FREAKING PORTAL! I must've passed out from the shock, because when I woke up again, it was time for school. The portal was gone, but I was still standing right where it was, so I know it wasn't a dream. But now that I think about it, pinch! (Unintelligible screaming) ow! Sorry about that, I must've pinched a little too hard. But, it wasn't a dream! At school I told my friends what I saw. I might as well just have told them to eat an old boot, because they looked at me like I needed professional help. "Come on Steve, it was just a dream," That was Zane, my best friend. "No it wasn't! I pinched myself when I woke up, remember!" I argued. "Hey Steve, just forget it, ok!" But I couldn't forget it, it just kept coming back to me like an annoying ear infection. The portal might as well have been a portal to ancient Egypt, but how?!! When my friends came over the next day, I asked my mom for a sleep-over. Why? Maybe the portal would open again in the night and I could prove it to my friends. She said yes. Sure enough, the voice called for me again in the night. I woke up my friends and told them what I heard. We went downstairs, and there was the portal. "See!" I said matter-of-factly. "I don't see anything," Nancy said, my other friend. "Wha- but it, it it it's there!" I stuttered. Shaking his head, Zane went back upstairs. So did Nancy. I noticed a writing on the kitchen floor next to the portal. It read, only the one who believes can see and succeed. I stepped inside the portal.
