POV: Lannis

Hmm, if I were to describe what made me become so overwhelmed I'd start with shock. I was completely caught off guard by the appearance of the guy I had made eye contact with. After taking all those pictures, I was thinking about how'd my parents would react to them. With my mind focused on all that jazz, when I turned around I just wasn't thinking straight. Normally, I wouldn't just stare at people in such a dumbfounded manner. Especially, people, I haven't even met yet.

The boy that probably thought I was a creep had a pair of really nice looking eyes, they were like sky blue. It's weird to say but when I was looking into them, they seemed so soft. Not like his actual eye or anything weird but the aura of his eyes seemed so soft and fluffy. Have you ever met someone like that?

Just in the person's eyes, you feel as though you resonated with them entirely off of a mere glance, or you feel like you know them now. Those are the eyes that he had, but I noticed his bushy eyebrow slightly curve just barely. I was so stuck in his gaze that I almost didn't realize but it quickly hit me that the boy in front of me . . .

. . . was looking at me like I had three heads.

The eyebrow, the tilted head, and even the slightly open mouth of confusion, goddammit I missed all the key signs. Was I really about to botch another conversation with someone I just met? Again?! I refuse to go out this bad, I'll fix this before it can any worse. I have to calculate how long I've been staring, how long he's known, and maybe something else. Think Lannis, think!

"Um, you okay?"

All hope was lost. My end was near and there was nothing I could do to prevent my inevitable fate. He spoke faster than my brain could fire up a way to save me. Now I was forced to rely on the only thing I had left. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes momentarily, and straightened my posture before uttering the blatant truth.

"I'm fine, I just turned around and made eye contact with you. B-Blue eyes are relatively rare and yours look really nice. I'm sorry for staring, they're just cool."

Dammit, dammit, dammit. That sounded so much weirder than what I intended, I was going for sincerity. But all that came out of my mouth was nonsense, I'm finished. I'll probably have to quit Beacon and find another school so that he can never see my loser face again. Yeah, that's what I'll do!

However, despite me already losing hope in the situation, there was a spark of redemption. I had already planned on turning around and speeding off but what I saw made my heart skip a beat. The boy moved his hand through a section of short, spikey brown hair in a slick motion. His forearm was covering half of his face but even then I still saw it, on the other uncovered side.

It was faint but he was blushing, I'm pretty sure it was because what I said was a little embarrassing but the thought of it being something else got me excited. So much that I found myself blushing, I didn't even think to hide it. So now we were both just standing in front of each other, faces as red as the blood within. Except I was the dummy who formed the awkward smile on my face.

"Blue eyes are pretty rare, back where I come from me and my family were the only ones with 'em. So no need to make it weird just try not to stare next time, it's a little creepy." he insisted with a voice way deeper than mine.

I scratched the side of my neck nervously before turning my head so that I wasn't looking directly into his eyes again. Then that's when it hit me, there was an opportunity to start this whole introduction all over again. So I took a deep breath before holding out my overly sweaty hand and managed to speak.
