Clay is now hallucinating Hannah talking to him. He knows that she's still in a coma, but how is she here in his room? Hannah is now sitting down on Clay's couch while Clay lays on his bed while holding his pillow asking her questions.

Clay Jensen: How can you be here? You're at the hospital right now in a coma.

Hannah Baker: Wish I knew.

Clay Jensen: So let me get this straight.

Hannah Baker: Okay.

Clay Jensen: You don't know why you're here. You don't know how I'm supposed to feel. You don't know why I haven't seen you even though you're in a coma and then you show up tonight.

Hannah Baker: Precise and accurate, in true Clay Jensen style.

Clay Jensen: You're still allowed to make fun of me.

Hannah Baker: Allowed? Obligated? Who can say?

Clay Jensen: Are you real?

Hannah Baker: Do you see me?

Clay Jensen: Are you corporeal?

Hannah Baker: That seems like a science-fiction question.

Clay Jensen: Can I touch you?

Hannah Baker: That seems like a loaded question.

Clay Jensen: This is fucked up, right? (Stammers) Like, I'm seriously fucked up.

Hannah Baker: I don't think you're fucked up. You're just... working through things.

Clay Jensen: Things like seeing a spirit?

Hannah Baker: And other things.

Clay Jensen: So you are a spirit.

Hannah Baker: Okay, does it matter what you call me? I'm here.

Clay Jensen: And you're here for a reason?

Hannah Baker: I would think so.

Clay Jensen: But you don't know what it is.

Hannah Baker: I was hoping you would. Maybe it can help me wake up.

Clay Jensen: And you're not going away.

Hannah Baker: I don't think so. I mean, not for the moment.

Clay Jensen: (Scoffs) Well, that's just fucking great.

Lainie Jensen: Clay!

A knock is heard on the door as Clay wakes up. It was all a dream, or so he thought when he gets up and sees Hannah sitting on the edge of his bed.

Laine Jensen: Clay! You're going to be late.

Clay Jensen: Shit.

Laine continues knocking when Clay finally answers the door.

Laine Jensen: Are you all right?

Clay Jensen: Uh, sorry! I'm fine. I'm fine. I overslept.

Laine Jensen: You slept in your clothes?

Clay Jensen: Yeah. Homework and stuff.

Laine Jensen: But, um, everything's okay?

Clay Jensen: Yeah, all good.

Laine Jensen: How was court yesterday?

Clay Jensen: (Scoffs) Why don't you tell me?
