8. OUTSIDE THE WALLS

The next day went pretty normal.It was just us experimenting on Eren. I decided to ask Petra about Levi and her relationship. Yes, I was jealous.

"Hey, Petra."I called out.

"Yes Captain." She replied.

"Would you mind answering a question of mine?" I asked her. She nodded and gave me all her attention.

"Thank you. What is your and the Corporal's relationship?" I asked. I knew I looked intrigued.

"Uhhh...Where did this question come from?" She asked, unsure as to why I was asking her this.

"I just always see you two together so I was curious." I answered. It wasn't a lie anyways.

"Oh...he's just my Captain that I look up to. Nothing more nothing less. I like someone else anyways."She answered. I was instantly relieved and even more curious.

"Oooo...who is the lucky guy?" I asked her. She blushed and hid her face.

"Captain stop teasing me!!!" She squealed.

"Who is it then?" I asked again.

"Oluo." That really made me feel like she had absolutely terrible choice in men, but I didn't know him well so I can't judge him...yet.

"Are you okay Captain?"She asked.

"Mmhhmm."I hummed.

"Was there no particular reason you asked my relationship with Captain?" She asked me. I looked her straight in the eyes and lied.

"There were none." I replied, it was lie of course, but I couldn't just say I was jealous.

"Are you sure Captain? Could it be that you like Captain Levi?"She teased. Of course I did but doesn't mean she needs to know.

I averted my gaze away from her.

"Nope. He may be strong but he's a grumpy old man, I can't have that bad a choice in men." I joked.

'I do have that bad a choice in men.'

"Don't worry Captain, my choice in men is worse than yours." She joked back.

'At least she knows.'

"But he's a great person, him seeming like a cold person is only because he thinks that's how Captain Levi would act in those situations. Most the times he gets it wrong but still. He isn't a bad person. Plus he's a really affectionate person. That's why he's my fiancé." She had a very dreamy expression, she clearly really loved him.

"How old are you?" I asked her.

"22. Why?" She asked back.

"Ugh. A 22 year old has a fiancé, I'm 29 and still haven't ever had a lover. Oh how unfair life is." I complained in a very melodramatic way. I look towards Petra and she looked shocked.

"What? Too much?" I asked her.

"No...just let me take in what you just said..." She trailed, still with her shocked expression.

"Hey! What are you guys talking about?" Hange asked as she hugged me from the side.

"Hange-san...has Captain Violet never had a lover?" So that was what Petra was shocked about.

"Nope. So many people, including girls wanted to court her but she rejected all, and in such a respectful way, I bet they still like her." Hange answered while laughing. Petra looked even more confused but laughed.

"Why though? Do you not believe in love or marriage or something?"

"No, it's nothing like that. I'm just looking for the right person." I scratched my nape, embarrassed at the interrogation from Petra.
