Chapter 1

'To be honest I was more shocked that he had a mother. It seemed everyone in this webtoon is motherless' Devan felt he was being lifted up so he opened his eyes once more and saw the Duke right in his face and suddenly cried out of shock

"WAAAAAAAAAAH" The cry was so loud that it could be heard all throughout the Alpheus mansion. Roger put back little Kiel in his crib and tried to calm him down then the midwives came and checked on him

"Sir Duke please don't grab the young master so suddenly, He must have been surprised to see you" One of the midwives said while checking on little Kiel and was carried and was softly patting his back to calm him down 

"I..was just checking on him..." Roger tried to explain and the midwives felt bad and taught him how to hold Kiel properly and gently. He held him for the first time (A/N properly anyway) He was astonished by him to hold such a little carbon copy of him with imaginary flowers floating around. The midwives were profound by the sight and were all internally screaming in delight at the father-son moment 

"Duke what will you name the young master?" A servant asked the duke. and Roger thought about it deeply on this and all the servants in the room were all nervous and sweating. Many names were on the Duke's mind. He finally decided to name him 

"Ijekiel will be his name" After holding him for a while a servant asked the duke to go back as he has a lot of paperwork to do he was displeased as he wanted to spend more time with his son but he eventually gently gave little Kiel for the midwives to take care of and left

Soon after Devan woke up and a lot of servants were watching him sleep which was weird to him 'Can you please stop staring at me it's creepy' although he was weirded out he couldn't do anything. 

When it was feeding time the maids were given a hard time. Because when Devan first tasted the milk  he was disgusted and refused to drink anymore 

One afternoon It was peaceful in his room and he was able to crawl around the floor and play with some toys. It was a normal day for him until an unexpected guest came slamming the door open.

It was Ijekiel's mother. Eirian Belezin 2nd daughter of marquis Belezin A character who was never mentioned nor had a debut in the webtoon. This means she has little to no meaning to the story 

"My baby! I finally get to see you!" The woman was clearly excited to see her child and carried him around in the air. Until a sound of running gets closer the door was slammed open again. (I'm feeling bad for the door now)

"My Lady! do not run so fast!" A maid with turquoise hair came and went to inspect her lady to see if she was hurt

"Vivian I'm fine! stop worrying and look at your nephew!" Eirian and Vivian were friends since childhood because Vivian's mother was Eirian's nanny. The two became close that it seemed they were sisters 

"Oh My! what a little cutie you are!" Vivian was touching the cheeks and got a nosebleed to how soft they were. They both were playing with him spoiling him with toys that Eirian bought beforehand. Devan was exhausted and took a nap so both ladies exited the room to let him rest

"My lady excuse me for the sudden question but what do you think will be Lady Aurelia's reaction to her nephew?" Eirian and Aurelia's relationship wasn't the best so Eirian just brushed the question off and remained silent. Vivian understands her but still tried to repair the relationship between Eirian and Aurelia because she understands that Aurelia tries her best to make up for her absence in her sister's childhood but Eirian always ignores her letters.

After that day Eirian spend more time with her son whether it be a walk in the garden or doing her duties as duchess while also watching her son play it was a sweet mother-son bonding. Secretly Devan enjoys her company since in his supposedly past life he never met his parents he lived in his uncle's house with his cousin

while Eirian, Vivian, and Kiel were in the garden having tea they were having fun Until Eirian's sister, Aurelia came to visit. Eirian was shocked to see her sister after 3 years 

"Eirian you never told me you have a child nor did you tell me you were pregnant" Aurelia stood there while Eirian replied

"You never told me you were going to visit" Eirian was someone who was discontented when things don't her way or were unplanned. Aurelia chuckled 

"Well if you were to read my letters I asked if it were okay for me to visit you since we haven't met for 3 years" Aurelia replied with the calmest tone Devan has ever heard but his mother had the opposite reaction. Aurelia walked over to Devan and was touching his hair she was surprised at how soft it was and smiled. Eirian just watched her older sister smiling something she never saw when she was a child. 

"Eirian do you mind if we just spend the day together? I want to bond with my little sister and nephew you know?" Aurelia looked at Eirian to see if she would get a nod from her 

"I don't know if the duke would agree to thi-"
"I already asked and he said it was okay"
"What if Kiel gets sic-"
"I can put a protection spell on him like I put one for you" Aurelia beamed at her sister while Eirian was at loss of words eventually she agreed
