IN HIS EYES, HE SEES HELL. Fire rages and burns, swallowing the soldier's bodies being hung up into black ashes. Men's eyes clouded with glazed white and glowed a hue of yellow. That night, a terrifying outbreak and war spread in Penamstan...

In the middle of war, a small hope emerges. The U.N. refugee camp is bustling with busy workers, the injured and soldiers alike. Inside the medical tent, Seraphina tended to the patients of all kind—both soldiers and locals. An old man with a nasty chest wound suddenly grabbed her hands, gripping them tightly.

"Huh—? Sir, please, what's wrong?"

"Miss, don't go out there," The old man begged desperately, his words tinged with an ominous warning. He refused to let go of her hands, as if possessed by a spirit. "If you want to live, stay away from this country."

Knowing for patients like these, Seraphina let him squeeze her hands and to not let their delusions stray. Maybe his words weren't far fetched, but she couldn't entertain people's paranoia or fear.

"O-of course, sir. I'll be careful."

Even after her hands were left with sore red marks, Seraphina's mind constantly floated around. The civil war...all these injured people...just when she thought she was done with everything related to bioterrorist threats, it came up again. Like clockwork.

Ding. Ding. Her cell phone rang loudly.

"Hey. It's Dean! I wanted to call you in to see how you're doing," Dean spoke with the same enthusiasm from when they first met. "BSAA wants an update on what's going on. You know the government is, they're slow at keeping up."

"Oh...uh, well, it doesn't look great. I'm seeing tons of locals and soldiers come in. All sick and injured because of the war, but it's been like that for a long time. We're so understaffed. What's even going on?"

"I wish I knew what exactly. Oh, I have to take a call from Chris really quick, I'll call back later!" Dean's tone tried to remain calm and hopeful, but even she could tell how occupied and busy he was. People like him and Hunnigan were practically lined up with work.

Sighing, she slipped her phone back into the pocket. This mysterious plague or virus resembled the outbreak of Raccoon City, which didn't reassure anyone. Another bioterrorist attack or someone had released something they shouldn't have, now they didn't want any attention. So there was no information given to any of the medical workers, as if they wanted to avoid that subject entirely.

Instead of staying with her aunt at the local hospital, Chris Redfield came down with his sister and asked Seraphina to join BSAA. Initially, she wasn't sure why, perhaps the reason was pity. Seraphina escaped the city with Claire, after all and knew what kind of predicament she was in with the government. At least Chris wasn't some corrupt overhead inside a government office.
