Izuku stood to the side of room, watching Bolin and Mako train. Their third teammate, Hasook, hadn't shown up yet. Mako was clearly upset, throwing his rage into his strikes as he laid into a series of wooden dummies. He was just punching them, as a way to strengthen his body, but every hit left a scorch mark as his anger caused fire to flare up around his fist on impact. Bolin, on the other hand, was firing off earth disks as rapidly as he could into the net, aiming to hit the same spot every time. However, he appeared to be a bit stiff, and was favoring one side. Izuku quickly put the pieces together.
"So," Izuku asked to neither of them in particular. "Another fight?"
Mako stopped after his next punch, and Bolin hesitated in a strike, causing his disk to loose momentum and shatter on the ground. The younger brother sighed and grabbed the broom to sweep up the debris as Mako leveled a frustrated look at Izuku.
"He started arguing about your training again, and when Bolin tried to defend you, he sent an Ice Spike into his leg."
Izuku's eyes widened and he quickly walked over to Bolin and took the broom from him before leading him to the bench so he could examine the wound. "You should have told me at the beginning, him doing these exercises with a wounded leg could resort in him injuring himself further."
Izuku quickly examined the wound, and cleaned it before re-stitching and bandaging it. As he finished up, he was putting away his medical tools when Hasook finally entered the room. He started to make a snide comment with a smirk, but Izuku suddenly threw the surgical scissors a millimeter to the side of his ear, and embedded them in the doorframe behind him. Everyone stared at the spot of impact, before slowly looking to Izuku, who had his hair covering his eyes.
"Tell me, Hasook," Izuku said in a low tone that put the brothers on edge. "What in the world were you thinking when you attacked Bolin?"
Hasook shook slightly in his shoes as he heard the tone in Izuku's voice. But Bolin and Mako were more terrified. Izuku had slipped into the voice he uses as the Black Spirit to interrogate people. The two of them were the only ones who had ever heard it... and lived.
Hasook gritted his teeth. "You don't have the right to question me, you powerless bas-"
Hasook was cut off by Izuku suddenly blitzing from his previous position and gripping his hand around Hasook's mouth like a muzzle. His fingertips gripped into his upper jaw while his thumb pressed into the bottom of his lower jaw, just behind the chin. Izuku then swept Hasook's legs out from under him and slammed his head into the floor, pinning him to the ground by his head. At this angle, Hasook could finally see Izuku's eyes, and they were livid.
Izuku held the pressure for a few more moments, before releasing him. "I understand you don't like learning from a non bender. But I want you to understand that while I might not have that magic element manipulation you do, I know just about every fighting style known to man, including the basics of traditional and pro-bending styles for every element. This means I can analyze the attack patterns of my enemies, and use them to my advantage. I can find their strengths and weaknesses. But it also means I can teach you how to mitigate your own weaknesses as well."
Hasook shook a bit, but calmed down as he sat up. "Psh, yeah right, you just took me by surprise. What would you actually do against a bender in a fight with multiple people?"
