Mallard was back in London, and he wasn't all the same. He was still fast, but he never wore a smile anymore. All he could think about was the Forest Stean Railway.
King George and John tried to keep him cheery, but it was seen that the old Mallard was gone for a while.
Princess Elisabeth enjoyed heckling Mallard. While he never listened, she still found it fun to put him down on what he missed, and what the LMS was doing.
"Hey kid, no need for the long face," said a voice.
"I just don't feel like it anymore," said Mallard, "I was taken from the one place I feel like was home. I took everything for granted."
"Well, I didn't come all this way to see you moping."
Mallard looked up, and said, "Scot?"
Mallard looked to see Scotsman in a whole different livery than his black one.
"W-What are you doing here?"
"I'm back to do what I was made for: the people."
"I thought you would never come back."
"Well, Gresley and I go way back, and he's a very persuasive man as well."
"Gresley talked to you?"
"Yes, and you might want to look sharp, here comes the trains."
Just then, people and engines came in.
King George came in, and looked at Mallard, and then Scot.
"No way," he said.
The passengers then came out, and looked in awe.
"Oh my!/Wow."
Sir Nigel Gresley then came out, and people started to come in.
"Is that?/That's him!!"
Some people even made telegrams to local news reporters.
"The Flying Scotsman's back!?!/THE FLYING SCOTSMAN'S BACK!!"
Soon, the cameras came in, and people were cheering.
"The Flying Scotsman, the most famous steam locomotive in the world, has just been seen here at Charing Cross. No one has seen the steam legend in over 20 years!"
"See, the people haven't forgotten you!!" said Mallard.
"So an old tea pot is back, big whoop," said Elisabeth.
Nobody really paid any attention to her. But, soon, something sinister was planned within her smoke box.
