We are walking in the tall grass. It is tickling me knees in some spots because of how tall it is. It's spring right now in Canada. Therfore we collectively decided to go visit some scenic areas that you wouldn't see commonly in Korea. Like canola fields and small towns. That's where we are heading next. I decided to bring my boyfriend Seungmin over to meet my family for the first time.

The wind was blowing slightly causing my tangled curls to go across my face towling around my glasses. As I swipe the hair out of my face Seungmin snapped a photo.

He laughed at the apparent cute face I was pulling. Without realizing it a beautiful orange and black butterfly had landed on my head as he again. Took a shot.

"Minnie..... can we go now. Standing in this field is pretty and all. But we're gonna be late to meet my family. And i want them to love me as much as I do." He blushes as I peck him on the nose.

"What do you mean? Kaylee family, isn't she? That's all the approval I need." He shuffles around his hair as we make our way back to the rental car.

"Well she does matter. But is easier to please. She is engaged to Jinsung for crying out loud. So she has to put up with you regardless." I retort flicking him on the forhead as he begins to drive.

" besides I want to marry you one day. And I don't think Chan or Kaylee are gonna give off the same vibe walking your future spouse down the isle." I laugh at the thought.

" Not if its a Korean wedding. Besides that's not what this is about." He begins sweating feeling uncomfortable changing the subject.

"What should I say. Hello, sir I am your child y/n's boyfriend. We met at a baseball game over a kiss cam. And we've just been hanging out. Oh and by the way I'm an international superstar." He sweats more going on until we pull up to the driveway.

"Just smile and answer all the questions your comfortable with. Okay." I look him square in the eye with a pure heart, trying to calm this man down.

We walk up a narrow driveway and knock on the navey blue door. Waiting paitently we both stay quiet. Not wanting a conversation to be interrupted by my family.

"Hey, Y/N. Come inside we got the coffee on for you. Tell us how you've been." My mother cheered pulling me in for a hug.

Meanwhile Seungmin stood there awkwardly waving and bowing slightly every now and then not knowing what to do. So he smiled and waited to be introduced.

"Hey mom, dad now you can formally meet Seungmin. Rather then just hear me talk about him and seeing him in the back of my Skype calls." I laugh slightly at how wierd it is that they know him, but don't really know him.

They have just looked him up. On instagram. Probably the worst place to look cause of hard stays. Or him joking in the background of my calls yelling that he wants to cuddle and watch movies now. But in Korean. So I know he means business. I've been helping him with his English for his comming tour this year.

I ruffle his slightly combed back purple dusted hair receiving an evil glare as he takes our jackets and hanging them up and following me inside.

The house wasn't very big, but cozy. Lots of pictures of family members and sports nick nacks around everywhere. Yup this is home, but what sealed the deal was my mother's home made tortilla soup. She knows me. I smile and begin to induce a conversation in the crowd as everyone was staring at this sweater and shorts wearing, purple haired Korean boy standing next to me constantly boxing to my parents as they compliment him on his career and partner choices.

Conversation was good. The dinner was great and it was just time for us to say goodbyes for the night before we head to the hotel. I'm being handed all these containers of food and bags of things I've left at home. Looking around for my boyfriend. No where to be seen.

"Hey, mother. Have you seen Minnie?" I ask.

"I think he's in the bathroom. I'll send him to the car when he comes down. It was so nice seeing you guys in person." My mother was holding back tears.

I exchanged hugs and walked over to the car Turning on the AC and the radio listening to the latest songs on the radio. Wierd to hear them in English though. I was boring my head to the latest Weekend song when the car door opened and Seungmin came into the driver's seat out of breath and smiling.

"Dude, are you okay?" I quizzed.

"Never been better actually." He chirps giving me a peck on the nose.

We begin our drive to the nearest city. Since the small town I grew up in has no hotels as they don't get much travels who stay. Suddenly we stop at the same lavender field that backs onto canola fields we were taking photos in earlier. I rolled my eyes being annoyed at my boyfriends sudden need to take photos. Especially of me. I hate photos of myself. Yet he posts them on his private accounts constantly.

We walk a couple meters into the fields again. In the exact spot we were taking photos before. Only this time it was sunset and the frogs were cooking in the background. It seemed peaceful.

"Why are we here? Havnt you had enough photos of this area? A sunset doesn't make that much of a difference." I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms ready to just leave.

"Well I wanted a before and after shot." He was fumbling around in his backpack. I'm assuming to get his lense out.

Next thing I know he's on one knee. Starting at me as if I was a precious gem to be cherished. I didn't know what to say and was tempted to make a joke about it. But then he spoke.

"Y/N. It's been amazing these past few years as we've all been able to grow from teens into adults together. How even though your blood family is here in your home town. We've still manged to create our own little family in Korea. And just know that even when your a Maga super famous (insert job). I will still think of you and love you the same way when we were at that ball game. And we ended up on the kiss cam." He winks turning pink." So what I think what I'm trying to say is. Before I go on tour and will be buisy for a long time. I wanted to ask if you wanna you know. Make a Permanente choice to be my family. What I'm saying is Y/N. Will you marry me?" He feels so passionate and honest when he said that.

Usually he's not that serious and would make some sort of sarcastic remark after being romantic. But this time was real as he pulled out a beautiful antique looking ring from a box and slid it on my finger. Clearly I said yes.

And with the most honest and true smile on my face he took a photo on of me. It will be one we cherish forever.

The ride back couldn't go by any quicker as I was so worried of what was to come next.

We retired to bed in our cozy pajamas just scrolling through social media like young couples do. When I come across a post on Seungmins page. It's the photos he has taken today. He noticed and had a smug grin on his face. And of course had a cheesy caption quoting there song."I like the view right now." Of course. And there was already comments and likes. I was gonna get mad until my phone went off.

Ping.

"Double wedding? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔"Jinsung asked directied to Seungmin.

"Korean or western or both. Either way no baby making until marriage I already have enough children to watch over." Chan commented.

All the comments were so pleasant and stupid at the same time. What a family I have created. But I wouldn't want it any other way.
