Chapter 1: Milo

Milo's pov
"Milo are you listening?" A voice suddenly pulled me into reality. The voice belonged to my legal guardian Mrs.Brown.

"Yeah sorry I zoned out" I replied looking away from the window and down at my feet while fidgeting with the zipper of my sweatshirt.

We were currently sitting in the principal's office officially signing me up for another new school. The setting wasn't completely unfamiliar at this point but it was still new enough to make me anxious about it.

"Sorry he does that a lot" mrs. brown says to the principal apologizing for my absence of mind.
"No it's completely fine don't worry" The principal started " like I said Milo will live and eat here in the dorms and will attend the academy on weekdays"

I zoned out again not paying attention to the conversation. the only thing familiar was the sight of my old worn sneakers that I used to doodle on when I was bored and my backpack that has been with me through everything.

This school is supposed to be different than the other ones mrs.Brown said it's for "special" kids. In reality she's probably just trying to get rid of me so she doesn't have to bother moving since I can't go to any of the schools in our area anymore. Plus she doesn't have to take care of me.

"Milo dear would you like to see your dorm?" The principal asked in a friendly tone standing up waiting for my response.

"Ah, Um yes please" I replied caught off guard to the sudden question pulling me out of my thoughts. I stud up and wait for the principal to show me the way.

"I'm heading home now it's quite the long trip after all" Mrs.Brown says cheerily
"It was lovely to meet you Mrs.Brown, have a safe trip home, I assure you we'll take great care of Milo" the principal said before walking out of the office door and out into the main building.

After walking through a lot of corridors we arrived in front of a brown wooden door with the number 327 engraved on a metal plate on the door. 
"This is it" the principal says handing me a set of keys " these are all the keys you'll need here they go to your dorm, mailbox and locker try your best not to lose them" She stated clearly.

I took one of the keys labeled dorm and twisted it in the lock to hear a click.
Grabbing the handle I opened the door.
The dorm was already furnished with what looked like expensive and elegant furniture it was the nicest room I had ever seen. a silver and white color scheme engulfed the room it was nice. Really nice.
"There's one last thing I have to tell you about this school Milo" the principal said harshly I didn't answer instead I looked up at her with a questioning gaze.
"This school is a school for monsters" she states
"M-monsters?" I stuttered in a questioning tone confused about her statement.
"Yes monsters, anything from vampires and werewolves to ghouls and goblins, they all attend this school, in fact your the first human to ever attend" she states again
Unsure of what to say I stand there eyes wide looking at her.

"I know it must seem far fetched but that's just the way it is. If you're in need of anything please come to my office for now this is where I leave you" she states and walks off before I can say anything else.

Walking inside of my dorm I put down my bags and lock the door. I begin to unpack a little bit putting things away where I thought they should go.
I look at my phone it's starting to get a bit late and I'm really tired.
Reaching for my bag I take out my tablet and my favorite teddy bear. He's blue with a bit of white his name is Colin he's really important to me I can't sleep without him.

Changing into some comfortable pajamas I decide to unpack the rest of my stuff tomorrow so I could relax a bit before bed. Which I needed since my surroundings still felt unfamiliar. Putting on a cartoon on my tablet I lay down on my new bed  slowly letting sleep overtake me as I hold onto my favorite fluffy friend.
