Megan's pov
I knew what I had to do so I set my plan into motion immediately.
"Mason, help me fake my death and run away!" I said in a quite but serious voice.
"Mi'lady!? What do you mean? Come in quick..." Mason said after he heard my statement whilst ushering me into his room for some privacy.
"I need to escape this place if I want to ever be happy. So will you help me or not?" I asked as I sat on a chair Mason had pulled out for me, with my legs dangling and swaying gradually.
"Megan! How could you say that!?" Mason scolded me with an angry look on his face and a harsh tone, like a father reprimanding their naughty child.
"I want to leave whilst I still can, there's nothing left to keep me here once you leave anyway..." I said whilst reminiscing on my new memories sadly.
"What about tour parents?" Mason asked with a slightly calmer tone but he still had a grave look on his face.
"What parents," *huff* "your the only father I have or need!" I said with determination and a clear mind whilst making eye contact to try and express my seriousness.
"Huh, fine, go pack your bags with minimally. We cant take too much or people will be suspicious." Mason said with a knowing look.
"Wait... how do you plan to fake your death?" Mason suddenly asked whilst looking at me seriously.
"Burnt flesh smells the same regardless of what kind..." I said with an absent gaze directed at the window.
"I'll create a fake body of meat, dress it in some of my clothes and burn it to a crisp, might burn some hair too for extra caution." I finished as I looked back towards Mason.
"Do you need my help getting the necessary supplies?" He asked after listening to me explain.
"No, I'll handle it." I said with a slight smirk that had sneered its way onto my face. With that done I began to head back to my room to pack before I put my plan into action. I made sure I had basic necessities like money, a knife, clothes and some long life food. I then set to work by heading to the kitchen. As it was dark and the servants had all retired for the night, it wasn't hard to ransack the food bin. Yes the bin. Nobody would notice missing waste and it will also make the 'corpse' more believable.
Hauling the old meat to my bedroom I started work on shaping my 'corpse', first laying it out at the same length as my height before adding more and more meat squished into a shape resembling a human which I then dressed in my nightgown which I was dressed in for the night. Then I cut my hair short with some scissors and stuck it onto the head before pouring lamp oil over the bed and body then I made sure to close the windows and lock them before drawing the curtain then taking a lit oil lamp and breaking it over the bed, making sure it catches aflame, before I grabbed my things which were packed in a small rucksack and placed outside the door. After grabbing my luggage, I closed the door and headed to Mason's room, making sure not to be seen.
"It's done, let's go quickly." I said as soon as he opened the door. I was dressed as a young boy and my hair was cut short messily so it caught him by suprise. I had bound my chest although it wasn't really necessary and so other than my hair, I could easily pass foe a pretty young boy.
"Get in here, I'll fix your hair or you'll almost definitelyget strange looks if not get yourself caught." Mason said with a sigh and a gentle smile.
"Okay dad!" I said with a silly smile.
"Hurry up kiddo." Mason said with a chuckle, and with that I was in his room sat on a chair whilst Mason trimmed my hair and made sure it looked decent. After collecting the snipped hair and throwing it under the compost to hide it better, we headed out under the cover of darkness towards a nearby smaller town. It was small but not to small that it would be easily mistaken for a village, perfect for out first night of our escape. Mason has accepted that he is now my father even though we don't share a drop of blood and hearing him accept me as his child was the happiest moment of my life so far, I can only hope it just keep getting better.
Mason is only 24 but he raised me since I was 6 so I don't find him being my adoptive father weird but I didn't realise how strange it may look to others however I look about 8 so it's less obvious in some ways how strange our connection is. He's 9/10 years older than my new self and that makes him my senior!
With thoughts like these aswell as silly situations from now and again a mo th has passed. My plan worked and everyone thinks Megan Florets died, and 'she' did, my new name is Kian. I'm a commoner now meaning I don't have a last name but I've gained a nickname after spending a week in our new home due to my appearance.
Our new home is in a small village on the border of our home Kingdom, its a cosy place and we were able to get settled in pretty quick.
My nickname from the kids is cherry even though my new identity is male. I live in a small 5 room cottage with dad (Mason), it has a living room, 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom with a toilet aswell. The hygiene here is supriseingly good, almost on par with modern day hygiene if not slightly better, there's no pollution!
