Dad (15)

Kai's pov

With my clothes dishevelled alongside my hair that had also gotten messed up during... my emotional log roll session...? Well, it's an accurate description of what took place so I'll roll with it, pun intended.

Sutego was still in a statue-like state. I decided to grab ahold of my current momentum and confess, I've already kissed her so what will happen will happen, who cares about those silly old history books, it's not like I've seen or heard of any of the places here in any of my old history books, and I isekai'd already so it wouldn't be too far fetched to assume this is an entirely new world and that same-sex relationships are commonplace here or at least socially acceptable.

"Sutego, would you be my girlfriend!?" I ended up half yelling from an intense surge of both excitement and nervousness simultaneously.

Sutego's pov

I was still stuck in my own head when I heard a purr coming loudly from my kitten. The contents of her proclamation were even more shocking than the little peck from earlier.

She asked me to be her girlfriend! Obviously, it was only a matter of course that it would happen eventually but the baby bird surprised me once more with her courage and boldness. It's adorable, just like her.

I smiled dumbly with joy but I made sure to cover my face naturally in an attempt to hide it as I felt it would be embarrassing if she saw my dumb grin. I was so happy I forgot to actually answer her until I saw her start to slowly shuffle away as if to get off the bed and leave. I won't allow her to leave after she said that so I moved swiftly to grab her waist and pull her onto my lap once more before I gave her my reply.

"As you wish, princess," I whispered into her ear that then soon after changed shade to a deep red. I gave her a light peck on the cheek in satisfaction. This lovable little creature is all mine now, and I'm never letting her go.

Kai's pov

Sutego called me princess! That's a new name, and for some reason, the new nickname alongside her acceptance made me all the more embarrassed. The gentle kiss that landed on my cheek afterwards almost caused me to faint as all the blood rushed to my face.

Yet, since Sutego accepted that means we're dating now! Sure it was an unexpected series of events but I'm overjoyed regardless.

"Wait, what time is it?" I suddenly asked Sutego as I turned to face her, I had just realised I was meant to be going home with dad! I totally forgot after everything that happened with Sutego! Dad must be super worried about me!

Sutego's pov

When my kitten abruptly interrupted the ambience with a worried question about the time I was confused until I realised what she was worried over. The little girl was worried about how she still hadn't gone home or even told her dad that she wouldn't be able to go home after that day when we first met... It was 2 days ago and I had forgotten about her father honestly.

"Kitten, don't worry I'll get someone to tell your dad your alright ok? I can even send someone to bring him here if you'd like?" I informed her whilst rubbing circles into her back to try and comfort her intense emotions.
"I'd like that, thank you Sutego," Kai replied back to me now much calmer with a lovely smile that made my heart melt.
"Anything for you my adorable little bunny," I muttered whilst brushing her ruffled hair behind her ear gently.

Since I made the baby bird a promise, I must follow through, so I reluctantly rang the bell in the draw next to my bed and Harold one of my trusted men came in. He has a smaller build compared to most of the others with a baby face to boot but he's older than me and one of the strongest after me, maybe 4th in the entire syndicate. I then realised I don't know who my darling princess' father is.

"Baby bird, who is your father?" I asked with a tinge of embarrassment. It was reasonable to not know, is never met the man before, I simply del in love with his daughter!

Harold simply lingered silently, pretending to be selectively deaf as a good subordinate should in the current situation. As he did bunny showed me a picture from inside her locket which was a younger version of her with a young man that had light brown hair and purple and pink electrochromic eyes. He also appeared to have a completion similar to people of the Vóreios Kingdom. She then told me that his name is Mason. That was enough information but she went ahead and even told me her house address in cobbletree village.

Since I now knew what I needed to know I sent Harold to find Mason, and to invite him to this base politely. I stressed for him to be polite and casually threw a threat in to ensure that he wouldn't make an unforgivable mistake and hurt my future father-in-law. Although I emitted that identity, for now, to not overly fluster my bunny with too many blows at once.

Harold, as the capable subordinate he is, then left to carry out his task at once as instructed.

It didn't take Harold long before he returned with an anxious-looking man that resembled the picture I was shown earlier only he was older by a few years which was within my expectations. He looked very on edge the entire time until he noticed my bunny that was curled up on my lap and taking a quick nap due to the exhaustion that hit her after the adrenaline ran out. It has been a long day for her after all.
