Kiran was busy cleaning her workspace. If you saw her desk, you would understand, as there were papers scattered everywhere on the wooden furniture. She let out a yawn as she finished putting order in her stuff. Tactics books were back on the shelf, her trusty map of Askr folded and put in her battle records book. The light of candles illiminated softly the dark room as the moon was shining outside the Askran castle. A soft knock was heard from outside her door.
"Kiran? Are you still up?"
It was prince Alfonse, the prince of the kingdom of Askr. The young man was always concerned because of Kiran's habits. By habits, I mean how she stayed up late everynight. He wandered in the halls everyday to make sure everything was alright, and often he heard the sound of when Kiran drew in her tactics book, as the door was always open. The summoner was always a visual person: the best way for her to understand was by drawing. It was more simple for her that way.
Kiran: "You can come in, Alfonse!"
The blue haired prince didn't wait longer to enter the room. He quickly looked around and noticed the candles lit on the summoner's desk.
Alfonse: "Working late, Summoner? Don't forget to rest, we have a big day tomorrow."
Kiran smiled.
Kiran: "Yeah, well I was simply trying to tidy up a bit my workspace. Can't work correctly if I keep losing my stuff, can I?"
Alfonse: "I get it. Do you mind if I stay for a while? We rarely get a moment to talk alone."
The young summoner nodded, smiling happily. Alfonse was right: the two of them rarely got a chance to be alone. She wondered if he had something to tell her.
The two sat on Kiran's bed. The girl looked at the prince and told him:
"Alfonse... I think I like you."
Alfonse was too tired to realise what the summoner was saying. However, he didn't want to leave, even if it meant falling asleep right there, in her bed. Kiran closed her head and it laid itself on the prince's shoulder, as if it had a mind of its own.
Kiran: "Let's lay down, I'm so tired and I don't want you to leave...."
The two of them laid down on her bed and they fell asleep like that. The next morning, Sharena was looking for Alfonse but couldn't find him, so she came to Kiran to help her find her brother, but she found him asleep, cuddling with their dear summoner. The princess quietly closed the door, careful to not wake them up. Sharena went to find Commander Anna, the commander of the Order of Heroes.
Sharena: "Commander Anna! I found my brother, he's asleep, it's best of we don't wake him up for him, he looks so peaceful."
Later in the day, prince Alfonse woke up and he blushed a deep shade of red as he noticed that Kiran was asleep with her head on his chest. It must have slipped from his shoulder when she was sleeping. Memories from last night came back to his mind: he saw a tired-looking summoner saying those words to him: "Alfonse... I think I like you." He smiled to himself then brought the palm of his hand to his forehead, blushing and thought to himself: 'Gods, I must look like an idiot right now... There's no way she likes me back, she probably said that out of sleepiness.' He felt Kiran's head moving slightly on his chest ans he looked at her as she woke up.
Kiran: "Alfonse... You didn't say anything last night... Do you... Not like me back...?"
Alfonse got up as he heard her say that with such sadness in her voice. He grabbed his stuff and left without a word. He didn't close the door violently, but hard enough to close it properly. Kiran brought her hands to her face and she let tears fall down her soft skin. She had rarely seen the prince so troubled.
At the same moment, Alfonse walked fastly in the halls of the castle. He cursed himself for leaving like that. Did he like Kiran back? Of course he did! What a dumb question. He's obsessed with her. The prince met Sharena as she exited the meal hall. She was talking with Wrys but as soon as she made eye contact with her older brother, her eyes were shining with mischief. She had seen her brother sleeping with the Summoner, but she was surprised to see how annoyed her brother looked.

As Kiran got up from her bed, she wiped her tears with the back of her hand and she fixed her hair quickly. She put her summoner robe on her shoulders and she walked out the door of her bedroom. She looked for Sharena, she needed to talk with the princess. She walked, looked around and kept on walking until she eventually found her friend. She was arguing with Alfonse, who looked totally done with her. He noticed Kiran's presence and took this as his cue to leave. He escaped majestically his sister's questions and Kiran looked at the ground, she didn't know what to say. Sharena put her hands on her friend's shoulder and forced her to look at her in the eyes, the princess had a serious look in her eyes, she said:
Sharena: "Kiran, tell me what happened. Clearly something happened between the two of you."
Kiran: "Well... He slept in my room last night..."
Sharena: "I know he did, that's not enough to set him off, spill the beans."
Kiran put her hands on her face.
Kiran: "So he truly doesn't like me back!"
Sharena then removed her hands from the summoner's shoulders and understood what happened.
