Ivy June
As my mom puts the last box in the trunk of our car, I stare blankly at my house, someone's else's house now. I feel a sharp pain going through my chest, as if being stabbed. All my childhood memories suddenly come back to me. My childhood best friends, my first time riding a bike, my birthday parties, everything. Tears well up in my eyes, "deep breaths, ivy, it can't be that bad"
"we're leaving without you if you don't get in the car now ives!" my mom jokes, or at least i hope she is. "I wouldn't mind!" I yell back, dreading what's about to happen. I step into our car and off we go to New York City.
As we arrive, I step out of our car. A jeep. One of those with roofs that can open, yeah those ones. I hope it'll be mine someday. I take a good look around, the building looks very fancy. Well, it is a boarding school after all. I pick up my box of stuff and my suitcase and start walking towards what seems like the entrance. It's hard to tell with such a big building like this one. My parents are following behind. A woman starts walking towards us, wearing one of those business skirts and a black blazer. "Ah, hello! You must be Ivy"
"Yes Ma'am! Ivy, Ivy June"
She welcomes me in and shows me to my dorm, "one of our students will give you a tour after classes tomorrow, when you're done settling in. she's lovely, i'm sure you'll be great friends"
"Thank you miss....?" I gesture my hands, asking for her name "Miss. Lupine."
I walk into my dorm, and take a deep breath before placing my box down. I take a look around and hear someone knock on my door.
"Miss me?" a deep voice says. I turn around, immediately recognizing him, after years of not seeing each other. "Alex!" I yell enthusiastically, running into a hug. "Are you my roommate?" I ask excitedly.
"Sadly, no. Boys and Girls aren't allowed to share a room together, blah blah blah. You know me, i find these things stupid...what If someone's into their roommate you know? Anyways, I actually live in that room over there" he points towards the room a few doors down the hall "How have you been though?"
"I missed your stupid rambles so much! But to be honest, I'm a little upset about leaving home, have any tips?"
"Honestly, it's not that bad. Sure, it's full of rich snobs, but there's some nice people here and there. Plus, you have me!" That made me giggle a bit.
