Life like never before

Chapter 7 xx

"How long to go"? I groaned as we drove along the windy road to the airport. I had that sickly feeling in my stomach and my mouth tasted of spew. "Fifteen minutes tops Hun" mum called turning up the radio to almost full blast. I hated her pick of radio station and to make it worse she had it on almost as loud as it could go. Could this drive be any worse.

"Daddy" I screamed as I went barging towards him and jumped into his arms. "Hey baby cakes" he whispered wrapping his arms tightly around me. "I have missed you to bits, I'm never letting you go away for so long ever again" I said as I led him over to mum. "Hey beautiful" he said to mum as he planted his lips on hers. I watched them kiss for at least 20 seconds. Argh, parents these days. They finally pulled away and dad made eye contact with me. "So how have you been Kyle's"? He questioned as he linked his arm with mine. "Great, Enjoying school and it is holidays now for two whole weeks and oh yeah forgot to say I have a boyfriend" I told him as I grinned. "We'll he better be decent or else you know what'll happen" he teased. "Oh he is dad just wait till you meet him, you'll love him" I explained as I ran over to the food hall. I walked past every store and I knew it was time to eat. My stomach groaned like an angry bear and it felt totally empty. I hadn't even eaten breakfast and it was already 1pm. I was about to fall over so I took a seat. "Hey mums, would you please get me my regular at McDonald's"? I asked. "Sure Hun, I'll be back in a flash" she replied making her way to the McDonald's area. She knew what to get as I had always got the same ever since I was 5. I never changed I was just my same old self.

"Thanks mum" I said as she put my food tray down on the table and made her way over to Katsubi. I bit into my crispy burger and a smile drew over my face. It was like heaven. It must have been months since I last had McDonald's. Dad came back with Sushi. No surprises there. Finally mum made it to the table with her Katsubi. "Sorry about the wait, there was a huge queue" mum said as she jogged her way to the table. "No problem mum" I replied giving her a smile. "So it's 1 o'clock now and I was thinking we could do something fun, like you know Mini Golf, Theme park, Movies..."? Dad offered. "I like the theme park idea" I told him with a big grin on my face. "Okay sounds like a plan, which one do you wanna go to"? He asked. As we live in the Gold Coast of Australia there was 4 to choose from. Dream world, Movie world, Sea world and Wet n wild. "Dream world" I screamed as everyone went silent and starting staring at me. My heart sank with embarrassment. "Well um Dream world it is then" dad responded as he got up and grabbed his bags trying to make a run for it. We made our way to the front doors to get outside. I burst into laughter because of before when everyone looked at me. "Dream world" I screamed again laughing my head off. Dad picked me up and spun me round. "Typical" he said kissing my cheek. Finally we were a family again.

"Check the car Hun" dad called as I pulled the door handle of the the car to make sure it was shut. I gave him thumbs up and made my way to the entrance to Dream world. "Two adults and one child please" dad told the lady. Dad swiped his credit card and typed in his pin. "Thank you" he said as she handed us our tickets. "Have a good time" she replied and gave us a smile. I smiled back.

"First ride is..." Dad asked. "Well dah, The claw" I screeched as I ran towards it. It was the coolest ride here. We got there at just the right time before the queue for the ride built up. We showed our tags and we were directed on. "Have fun" I heard mum call as she blew us a kiss. I blew one back and gave her a small wave. She hated these types of rides so she just watched us and took photos. We heard the countdown and we were off. I sat there screaming my head off! It was so much fun. It finally finished and I stepped off. I was out of breath from screaming so loud. I walked out of the gate and burst into laughter. "Enjoy that"? Dad asked. "Definitely" I responded as I made my way to the next ride.

We finished the last few rides and we made our way to the exit. "Well that was awesome" I said as I pulled dad into a hug. "You enjoyed it, I'm glad" he replied as he intertwined his hand with mums. "Oh yeah I have booked us to go to dinner tonight" dad told us. "Oh you didn't have to babe" mum responded. "Not a problem at all for you too, and we are going to the Empire State". "No" mum said shocked. "Yes that is where we are going to dinner so dress nicely girls" he called as he slammed the car door shut and chucked mum the house keys. Mum opened the door and we stepped inside. "Dress up girlies, we leave in 30" dad called as he went straight for the bedroom. This must be some sort if occasion. I mean this place cost heaps.
