“Is he coming again today?” Stacey asked grabbing her keys. Isabel was sitting on one of the high stools in the kitchen sipping on her coffee.

“And who said he was going to make frequent visits? He just Came to check on me, end of story. ” she said defensively.

“Girl you just got defensive!”

“Stacey please, just get out.” she said sipping more of the coffee.

“ Use protection Izzy!” she shouted from the front door.

Apparently she enjoyed shouting and getting on Isabel's nerves.

“Yes ma'am! ” Isabel shouted back shaking her head and stood up to start cleaning.

It was on a Friday mid morning and she was planning to make a few rounds in town and check out the bikes. She was planning to head home in a few days as there was nothing tangible she was still doing in town.

After cleaning and freshening up, she grabbed her handbag and headed towards the door. A knock was heard just as she was about to open the door.

“Oh Hi. ” she said softly after spotting Sam on the door step.

“Hi, are you going out?  I can stop by some other day. ” he said checking her out.

“I'm just headed to town, I have got to check something out. ” she explained.

“Well, these are yours. ” he extended his hands giving her a bouquet of fresh red roses. She took them and smelled them.

“Thanks, actually, you can come with me, if you're not that busy that is. ”

“Of course, I do not mind, take the flowers in first. ” he watched her nod and then went in.

As they settled in his car, as he had offered to drive her to town, he wondered whether what he had done was worth it. It had not been an easy task convincing his uncle to do it but after thinking it over he had eventually given in. Sam was grateful and promised to make it count. He stole a glance in her direction and smiled, he could not believe that he finally had the privilege to have her seated next to him, in his car. He could smell her lavender perfume gracing his nostrils. She looked extremely hot in those high wasted pants she had on.

“You are beautiful.” he repeated those three words that he found himself saying more than often ever since she started working at Bliss insurance. He just hoped that he was not being too predictive.

“Thank you. ” Isabel could feel her cheeks growing red and did everything possible to avoid blushing, including biting on her lower lip unknowingly. Suddenly the tires were screeching and soon enough they had packed on the road side. She was tensed and terrified.

“What was that? ” she finally asked when she got her breathing under control.

“You are terrible at hiding a blush. You got me distracted sorry. ” he said looking at her gently. One thing about Sam, he was just extremely bold. Working together, he could flirt openly with Isabel and had made it known to all the male counterparts in the office that she was off-limits. Of course Isabel took it that he was bluffing and turned down his numerous offers. She however liked his humorous character.

After checking out the bikes and establishing their prizes, they had lunch in one of the finest hotels in town. As they were busy digging into the food, Isabel got a notification which she assumed as she thought it was Stacey with her usual silly comments about everything.
Afterwards they went strawling in the park, eating ice-cream, something she had never thought she would do with her coworker, well, ex corwoker. They found a quite place beside the pool and sat on a bench. Isabel got her phone from her handbag and slid down the screen to see Stacey's text. But what she saw was too good to be true.

“Wait! I got a job?! I got a job! I  got a job Sam! ” she was  being crazy and Sam laughed knowingly at that. After jumping up and down and screaming her lungs out, attracting several stares from people around, she finally calmed down.

“You do not look surprised Sam, are you not happy for me? ”

“What!  That is awful, of course I'm happy for you, I'm just not surprised because I knew it was just a matter of time before they contacted you,”
he suddenly realized what he had just said and added quickly, “ I mean, you are a hard worker and I was optimistic you would land a job soon enough, come here. ” he hugged her tightly.

He was glad of how she fitted in his arms perfectly. So far everything was working out fine and he was happy.

“So, we are doing hugs now huh? ” she asked after pulling back.

“Are you saying that you do not enjoy being in my arms? ” he winked and smirked earning another blush from her. She could not agree less that it felt good to be in his arms and she would not mind staying there for a while longer, only that she did not want to appear desperate and lead him on so fast.

“Thank you, I only got this job because you insisted on me applying for it, and even ended up doing the applications yourself. Gosh! they do not even want to interview me first! Man I got a job!  we need to celebrate.! ” she hugged him again before they exited the park to find a bar nearby.

Isabel was not the type for the hard stuff but she decided to let loose for once.

After more than an hour of drinking and chatting, Sam decided it was time to leave as Isabel was becoming a little bit too bold, courtesy of the numerous shots she  had insisted on having. Darkness was approaching and he knew he had some thank you notes to write.
