Isabel woke up with a huge hangover and she made a mental note not to get drunk like that again. She went in for a warm shower but that did not stop her  throbbing head. After changing into some comfortable pants and a tank top, she headed down the corridor into the kitchen.

“Look who we have here? The drunk queen herself! ” Stacey shouted with a grin.

“I'm not in for your drama today Stacey, I just need something for the hangover, can you think of anything that can help? ” she said holding her head.

“ You were really messy last night, I thought you did not do alcohol Izzy, anyways that Sam guy, your ex coworker, he is hooot! ” Stacey rumbled on.

“You are totally not helping  Stacey.” she said reaching out for a glass to get some water.

“Top cabinet, two tablets, that should do. ” she said pointing to the top cabinet.
“Thanks.” Isabel said reaching out for the pack of tablets.

“Seriously Izzy, why not give the guy a chance? I mean, you have nothing to loose. If Mike was not in the equation, man I would not hesitate to get my hands dirty...”

“Okay!  Stacey, enough, can you just get your mind out the gutter! it is not helping. Sam is freaking gorgeous, but that does not mean he is not going to crush my heart the moment a prettier face crosses his path. So no, thank you. ”

she had actually thought about it sometime and it did not seem like a good idea. She had been reserved after an incident three years back, she just did not wish for history to repeat itself.

“Okay, but if you change your mind, I totally ship it,  you will be my favorite couple.” Stacey winked at her grabbing her keys ready to go. That girl was something else, somehow crazy but good.

“Can you believe it? I almost forgot! Congrats on your new job bestie, I'm really happy for you, you know what? when I get back, we are going to celebrate big time!” Stacey had  come back in a flash and hugged Isabel so tightly she had to gasp for air.

“Yeah but I will not make it for the new job if you suffocate me to death!” she struggled to say. Stacey let her go and she gasped for some more air.

“I thought you were gone, freak! ”
“Well, I had to freak you out before leaving for real, take care!”  with that she dashed out leaving Isabel shaking her head.

The day was slow, mostly because Isabel had nothing important she was doing. She was caught in between eating, watching the TV and taking a nap. By three in the evening, she was tired and needed to get out of the house for some fresh air. Without a second thought, she grabbed her cellphone from beside her on the couch and opened her inbox.

After visiting his uncle in his home, Sam returned to his apartment feeling overjoyed. He knew it was just a matter of time before he was promoted. He believed he was a hard worker and soon enough it would pay up.

Being pronounced managing director was something he had lived to dream about and his uncle sure saw the potential in him. He went in to freshen up and as he got out the shower his phone vibrated with a message.

Izzy: Hi, I'm in for a stroll around the neighborhood, you in?” he smiled before answering.
Sam: Sounds good, be there in twenty.

The whole night he could not help but think of her. He knew that she was probably nursing her hangover and he somewhat felt guilty for letting her have more than she could handle. The day had been great and he looked forward to having more fun moments with her, that was why when she texted for them to go on a stroll, he readily agreed.

It took less than twenty minutes for Sam to actually get to Isabel's, first because he had crazy driving skills and second because there was no traffic.

“That was fast. ” Isabel observed as she let him in.
“Well, you were my driving force, what could I do?” he asked with a sweet smirk on his handsome face. Isabel blushed, but busied herself with the door to avoid the embarrassment of being seen blushing.

“So, what is the plan?” Sam asked.
“I was thinking we could walk around and pass by Stacey's diner later on. ” she explained.

The sun was already going down when they entered the diner and sat on the stools by the counter where Stacey was busy taking orders and receiving pay at the same time. They had burgers and fries as they talked the evening away.

When it finally slowed down completely, Stacey closed up and they soon were headed home.

“So, you two are good in the kitchen department, that is really cool. ” Sam said appreciatively.

“By ‘you two’ you mean, Izzy and I? man, you need to reframe that statement,”Stacey said shaking her head chuckling.

“Ohoo! The other day, I gave her the credits, for the breakfast, Izzy? ” Sam shook his head laughing.

“Look, you never asked okay, plus I took the credits for Stacey, where is the big deal? ” Isabel defended. They both laughed and went on walking home.

On reaching their house, Stacey bid Sam good bye and proceeded to go in while Isabel remained outside with Sam leaning on his car.

“Thank you, for agreeing to walk with me, I needed it. ” Isabel said gratefully.
“I had a good time too, come here, give me a hug.” Sam told her as he opened wide his arms for her.

As she slowly pulled out of the embrace, she graced her finger tips on his lips and before she could process what she was doing, her lips were already on his and he could not resist.
