"Hey, I've got to get home," I say. I need to take a shower, and break it off with Brian. I'm done with his insanity. 548 messages in 12 hours???? No. I'm not dealing with that. My phone sings again. It's Brian. I hang up. I'm not answering that right now.

"Okay, I'll take you home," Ashley says to me. I nod, and am grateful for him.

"Hey, Ashley?"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you... for everything. Clubbing, the movies, all of it. Hell, I even enjoyed the hangover," I admit.

"Me too," he laughs lightly. "You're welcome," he adds. I smile at him. I still can't believe the challenge I gave him... He will do it. I know it. But, I will be a problematic little cunt about it. Just to be epic. His phone begins to ring. He hangs up on it. I have a feeling.

"Your girlfriend?" I ask.

"Almost ex, actually," he replies.

"Really?" I ask, my eyebrows shooting up.

"Yes. My heart isn't in the relationship anymore, and I don't want to hurt her," he says.

"Wow. She's lucky to have an almost ex like you," I say, laughing. My phone rings, again. "AGH!" and I chuck it into the floor of the car.

"Your boyfriend?" he asks.

"Ex. He won't leave me alone," I reply, lying smoothly. He will be my ex, by the end of the day. We arrive at my house, too soon. I lean over the console to hug Ashley, and kiss his cheek. He turns his head, and our lips collide. My eyes go wide, and I pull back.

"I'm so sorry," we say in unison.

"It's okay," we both say. In unison. Again. Then, we laugh. In unison.

"Okay, freaky," I say. Alone this time. We both laugh again. "Alright, I'm going to go," I say.

"I'll see you soon," he says.

"Okay," I say, with a smile.

"Sweet," I say, and I know my whole face is lit up.

I open my apartment, and Skype greets me.

"Ugh!" I shout. I proceed to pull the battery on my computer and my phone. I pull out my boom box (I still have one. Jealous much?) and pop in a CD. (Still have one of those too!) It's Escape The Fate's Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, from when Ronnie was still in the band. I know they've plummeted since. I hear Ronnie has a new band, so I'm pretty excited!

Either way....

"THE SITUATIONS ARE IRRELEVANT NOW,"

I get out of the shower as Not Good Enough For Truth In Cliche finishes. Fastest shower EVER. But I know what I'm going to do, and what I'm going to say.

Ashley

I drive away from Sixx's apartment, and answer Kina's call.

"I'll be over in twenty minutes," I say in a clipped tone, what must be my business voice.

"Okay!" she replies cheerily. Ugh. I hang up without another word, and take the familiar route to Kina's house. Once there, I drag my fingers all through my hair, straightening it, because it's pretty oily, so it stays. I pull myself out of the car. I know damn well this will be the last time I'm ever here. Good. I let myself in her house.
