Jake was starting to get worried. He glanced at the bathroom and saw that the door was still closed, meaning that Leena was still in there for god knows how long now and goddamn it, he needed to piss. Deciding to give her a few more minutes, he went back into his room and continued planning his lessons to teach, but twenty minutes later, he felt a small vibration from his phone.
Unknown: Come here
Whoa. "Should I be worried?" he spoke aloud. "I think I should be." Leena groaned from her seat in the bathroom, overhearing. She sent another message.
Unknown: You idiot, it's me, I hacked into your phone earlier just in case of emergency.
J: Um, Leena?
Unknown: I'm waiting
He sighed.
J: You know, you could've just asked for my number.
He walked to where the girl was holed up and knocked on the door. "You ok?" he asked tentatively. He barely heard her mutter something unintelligible in response. "Um, what?"
She pinched herself in the leg and took a deep breath, knowing she was going to regret having to have this conversation.
"...do you think you can get me some pads." She was met with silence for a few minutes, Jack unable to comprehend the simple task that was sure to be the death of him.
"...um, what?"
Leena buried her face in her hands, internally screaming. She was exceedingly grateful that the door separated them two, so that the boy couldn't see exactly how red her face had become.
"Uh," he continued. "But-"
"Did I fucking stutter, Jack?"
"No...but really? After that whole cat fiasco you put me through yesterday?!" he voice rose as he remembered the horrors he had to live through just the night before when Ruby had once again jumped the fence. "You locked her in my room, claiming you were 'too busy' to look after her and she shed all over my goddamn closet! Do you know how long it's gonna take me to get all her hairs out?! Most of my clothes are white. Her fur is black."
Leena simply rest her chin on her hand, unfazed by his ordeals. "That's partly on your conscience. You stole my umbrella. And you actually got the desert challenge picture framed and hung up right in the middle of the living room." She didn't bother adding how much it looked as if they were a couple, which Jack had completely overlooked. Then she remembered the task at hand. "Just buy me some freaking pads...please." she added in a small voice.
"What's in it for me?" He made it sound more like a statement than a question.
"How about your dick stays intact."
"Sounds a bit extreme for you."
"I'll make Ruby do it."
"Ugh, fine, but I'm not using my money."
"Use mine in my wallet, I'm trusting you here."
"But-"
"And get the ones with wings or else I'll make you bleed so much it'll put my period to shame."
