Okay my readers, I am here again! I have realized every time I upload this story, I drop maybe 1-3 chapters before going on like a 4–7-month hiatus LOL! I do apologize for that. But I am just glad any of you are even interested enough to continue reading it, thank you!

Enjoy the 10th chapter of The Forests New Heir!

Hatake Kakashi was not having a very good time.

"HAHAHA, DID YOU SEE HOW HARD THAT NARUTO KID PUNCHED HIM!"

"There's no way that Kakashi really pulled out his sharingan there, right?"

"Those kids really managed to take a bell too, how shameful."

All the potential Jonin sensei were gathered in the Hokage's office to report on whether or not their team had passed or failed. To the resident copycat nins chagrin, he was the last one to report. Hiruzen figured it was appropriate to instead of let Kakashi explain it, he'd allow a replay on his crystal ball to do the talking for him.

"I can't believe that child created his own jutsu," Yūhi Kurenai, the newest of the Konoha Jonin muttered. It truly was a spectacular feat.

"Forget that, before Kakashi went balls to the wall, the Uzumaki did a new combination jutsu on his lonesome, not to mention one that could be pushing A-Rank if refined a bit more," the chain-smoking Sarutobi Asuma unwelcomely chimed in reply to Kurenai, who shot him an annoyed glare, to which he just chuckled in reply to.

"All very true statements," the Sandaime began, before taking a drag of his pipe. Kakashi watched the man with a chafed expression, knowing the man likely planned to do this from the very beginning.

"I believe after watching that, it is very clear as to why Kakashi's team has passed, no?" The hailed God of Shinobi questioned, to which no one challenged.

"Excellent. Then after review and discussion, teams seven, eight, and ten have passed the exam. The rest will have the option to rejoin the academy for another year, or take the civilian route. Dismissed. Kakashi, stay behind."

With that said, the room was quick to disperse, leaving behind the Hokage and Kakashi.

Hiruzen made a small gesture, which Kakashi knew meant for his Anbu guards to leave, so now they were truly alone.

"So, Kakashi, what do you think." the older gentleman said with a twinkle in his eyes.

"I think you must have been a bigger practical joker than Naruto when you were his age, Hokage-sama." he replied, as he took a seat in front of his leader. Hiruzen gave him a look, to which Kakashi sighed before saying, "You truly did warn me. Those kids are something special. I believe it is unheard of to have such prodigies born at the same time, let alone to be on the same team and be brothers to boot."

"Don't forget about your third student now, Kakashi. Something tells me if she had eaten like the others, she would have been even more impressive than she already was," the third mused as his subordinate nodded in agreement.

"That is true, Hokage-sama. I haven't gauged her abilities to their fullest quite yet but we will see if they're something to marvel at."

"Indeed. As their sensei, I truly need you to guide this team Kakashi. I have a feeling in the future to come, Konoha will need their abilities to keep her safe," Hiruzen finished, taking another drag from his pipe. Relations with Iwa and Kumo have been tense, even after so many years since the end of the third great shinobi war.
