Healing completely took some time.

You were lucky though. Sans showed even more mercy with you, than he already did.

He took you back to their house and let you stay.

Papyrus, eager to become better friends, immediately offered you to use his bed for the time being.

After all, their couch was not exactly the most comfortable thing you ever sat on.

Unfortunately, Papyrus's cooking was neither very good.
Or even edible.

So it came, that Sans took you ever so often to Grillby's for lunch, brought more of the hot cats and sometimes cinnabuns home.

In return, you only had to answer some questions to him.

One of the first few days, it was about your own story.

A bit hesitantly at first, you started to talk about how you came to be on the mountain.

You didn't fully know, what to think of him, after all he never talked about his own past.

Even more hesitantly, you told him about the time in the Ruins.
And as everything that had happened there welled up within you, tears streamed once more over your face.

"I'm so sorry... I never wanted to...", you managed between two crying fits. "I wish I could just go back in time and do it better..."

"nah. let's not even start stuff like that...", Sans interrupted quietly.

His expression was blank, his eyesockets an empty darkness.

Papyrus came in a little later and luckily started telling of a few things that had annoyed him that day, making you smile.

Sans had disappeared silently by then.

He already had guessed that what you had just told him about Toriel.

You had killed her.

Your reaction and what he had been able to observe so far about you, let him at least reconsider what to do about you.

You were truly sorry, he believed that.
And you haven't killed anyone else, as far as he knew.

For now, he decided, he would ask more.

And definitely keep you under close watch.

As soon you started to feel better, the brothers took you with them on patrol.

By then, the other monster's of Snowdin had already gotten used to the sight of you.

Bit by bit you told both of them of your entire journey until the point, where Mettaton had injured you. (Which was very hard to believe for Papyrus)

"I will ask them in my next fan call to not do dangerous things like that ever again.", Papyrus ensured you with the most serious and quiet voice, you'd ever heared from him.

Finally, and more slowly over time, Sans grew more comfortable around you, knowing that he could trust you well enough.

But the situation could not go on forever.

"we should talk to undyne...", he proposed. "kiddo needs a better place to stay or... well... don't you want to go home?"

You didn't know how to answer then.

"NO WAY! I'M SURE THEY WANT TO STAY WITH US! RIGHT, HUMAN?! BUT WHY UNDYNE?"

Staying with the monsters didn't sound so bad.
But never seeing the surface again?

"if we could convince her to halt all official attacks on y/n, we might be able to bring them to the king without trouble and then try to solve the problem entirely...", Sans explained calmly.

"What would the king do to me if not?", you asked meekly, fidgeting with your hands.
You already had a vague fear what it might be.

Papyrus didn't seem to know, but suggested it surely wouldn't be something bad.
But Sans...
His expression was grim.

"ANYWAY! I WILL CALL UNDYNE RIGHT AWAY! AND ARRANGE A MEETING!"

The thought of meeting the fierce fishlady again made you so uneasy and restless, that you decided to take a walk through the snow.

Soon, Sans followed you.

"you alright, kiddo?"

Deep in thought, you got a little scared as he spoke up behind you.

With a pout on your lips, you reached out to slap him against an arm, but he evaded that.

"don't. unlike paps, i'm not exactly durable..."

"Sorry. I just got surprised there..."

For a while, you walked silently through Snowdin and into the forest.

It was a quiet day, so you managed to steer around the monsters quite well.

"Sans? Be honest... What happens with the humans here?", you dared to ask after a while.

He sighed and scratched the back of his skull, avoiding eye contact.

"as soon they are dead, their souls are used to break the barrier that closes us in... we need seven human souls... you would be the last..."

Now truly shocked, you stared at him.

"that's why we need to talk to them... you could hide for a while... but..."

You nodded, understanding what he was hinting at.

"But why do you want to help me? I killed someone..."

He shrugged and grinned.
"you didn't do it on purpose... and to put it like that... pap likes you a lot and wouldn't take it lightly if you'd vanish... also... we are friends, right?"

You took it surprisingly well. He had expected worse.

"you should take some time to think about what you're gonna do now... stay? or leave?"

Heyo!
As promised, here finally the next part for this little series!

For now I decided to focus on Undertale solely.
But if wished, I will return to Underfell and still offer other Aus.

The reason behind that is for one the lack of good ideas for now and also that I plan on making to different versions.

What is your answer? Stay in the underground? Or return to the surface?

You've reached the end of published parts.
