If you're a monster, part 1

Undertale:

The first time meeting him was on your first exploration in Snowdin alone. You were still a child back then.
You were hungry and stood nearly drooling in front of Grillby's inhaling the scent of food with your fine nose.
Unfortunately for you, didn't you have enough money with you to buy something.
“Sup, kiddo? You're hungry?” You nod. “Then you've chosen the right place.” “I can't. Must go home for eating.” He grinned rebellious. “Nah. Come on. I invite you, kid!” Then he grabbed your hand and tagged you in.
When you sat down at the bar, the sound of a whoopee cushion went off. “You better watch out where you sit, weirdos put whoopee cushions under seats!” He grinned and winked at you.
After this trick he ordered a tray of fries for you and started knocking out one joke after another, bringing every guest to laugh.
“Put it on my tab, Grillbz!”, he said while accompanying you outside soon after you finished your food. “Thank you...” “Nah. It's alright, kiddo. See you around!” Then he vanished into thin air.
You didn't even know his name, but you would never forget his puns and jokes. And neither his kindness.

Underfell:

You were afraid. More than afraid. Shaking, you were hiding behind one of the sentry stations while your family was hunted down by the guard because of the accusation of being human sympathizer.
You had been told to run and hide but now you were crying silently because you couldn't do anything.
“HELLO, FELLOW MONSTER CHILD! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL HELP YOU!” A skeleton child, merely taller than you, was striking a heroic pose in front of you, as you looked up. His voice was definitely dangerously loud so it was a wonder he didn't already attract the guards.
You shook your head, not wanting to drag anyone else into your problems. And you knew, if you own a depth to someone, it could get even more problematic.
“HAVE YOU SEEN THE ROYAL GUARDS? I WANT TO JOIN THEM ONE DAY! AREN'T THEY COOL?” He obviously seemed to have forgotten, why he actually had approached you.
“No... I don't like them. They hurt my family...” “WHAT?” The skeleton tilted his head and crossed his arms. “WHY WOULD-”
“Papyrus? Where the hell are ya?” Another skeleton came into view, this one with thicker bones than the small Papyrus. “I HAVE FOUND A NEW FRIEND, BROTHER!”
You glanced up to the newcomer and met his bored gaze. “Let me guess... Ya the one they search? They're soon back, ya better go hidin' in the woods or better go to the Ruins, kid. Your family is dust.” Your eyes widen. Actually you had hoped to be able to go home after a while, hoped to see them again. But instead the guard was now even after you. “Don't ever become like them, Papyrus...”, you said before dashing deep into the forest, when you heard the dogs bark from afar.
“WHEN I AM THE CAPTAIN OF THE ROYAL GUARD, NO ONE WILL EVER BE HURT AGAIN! I PROMISE!”
You believed his words, that you had heard while running through the snow. You realized, that Papyrus's brother probably had saved you with his warning and suggestion. You were thankful hoping to see them one day again and to be able to repay him for his help somehow.
Little did you know how much the brothers would change over time.
