Voldemort died a year ago. Yet his presence haunted everyone who was apart of the war. Everyone was tortured, tired, and grieving. No one was left untainted by the darkness.
The Order had decided, since the remaining death eaters that had escaped were going to hunt down the Golden Trio and other 'blood traitors', they all would be sent to different safe houses across the continent.
Harry and Ron had decided to become aurors instead of hiding, being the brave Gryffindors they were.
During the war, there were many Slytherins who came to the order to switch sides, to seek redemption, to repent for their mistakes.
One of them was Draco Malfoy. He was an intriguing soul, and eventually they had fallen in love and eloped during the war, not wanting to take any chances.
Legally, she was Hermione Malfoy, but she still went by Granger.
She grasped the door handle. It's now or never.
She put the key inside the lock and twisted it, pushing the door open. Hermione entered her old house, though no memories of her were left. There wasn't a single clue which indicated she had lived here.
Hermione picked up her sling bag and trunk, which was charmed with an undetectable extension charm and a feather-light charm.
Hermione opened the parcel which was kept on top of the shoe rack, tearing the brown parchment, and took out a book ,which was a port key. She held it, bracing herself.
I hate port keys.
"Ugh," Hermione exclaimed, dizzy.
She looked around, green trees, orchids, meadows, a lake, yes, she was going to do great here. She dragged her trunk, feigning that it was heavy, so that the third person would think she was using a lot of effort into it.
Perfect disguise. A silky voice said in her head.
Get out. She fumed.
See you soon, darling.
Rolling her eyes, she stopped, shrugging of her jacket, shoving it into a bag, revealing a quidditch shirt, which said MALFOY, 07 in bold and capital letters.
"Hey, need help?" a voice called behind her. She turned around, about to slip her wand into her hand, before seeing it was a boy. He looked to be 13 or 14, a few inches shorter with dark hair and brown eyes.
"No thanks," she flatly responded. "Can you lead the way? I need to see the professer," Hermione said after a while.
"Sure," he said, "By the way, I'm Edmund, Edmund Penvensie," he said, sweat forming on his forehead.
"Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Penvensie," she said, jokingly.
He lead her to the stairs, and he was surprised how she was carrying it effortlessly, as she looked pretty thin, her face gaunt.
Hermione was lead to a room, where she saw 3 people. Or rather, children.
"Thanks for accompanying me, Peter," Edmund snapped sarcastically.
Peter, who was shrugging and leaned on the bed frame, said, "My pleasure."
"Who might you be?" Peter said, glancing at her up and down. She was glad she hadn't forgotten her glamour charm, suddenly being self conscious about her scars.
"Where's Professer Kirk?" Hermione asked, ignoring his question, turning to the older girl.
"What business do you have with him?" She asked, crossing her arms.
"What's it to you?" she replied harshly, narrowing her brown eyes, slightly tilting her head to the side.
Realising this girl was not going to help her, she scoffed and turned on her heel.
She walked through the halls, her hands touching the walls, feeling the magic surging into her veins.
Guessing that the office was on the top floor, she rushed up the stairs, only to find out she was right, as usual.
She hesitantly knocked on the door, rapping it with her knuckles.
"Come in," an elderly voice said.
She grimaced. "Hello, Professor,"
"Miss Granger, what a wonderful surprise," the old man mused.
She sighed. This was going to be a long day.
