Susan was with her little sister, Lucy, as they explored the place with her other siblings, Peter and Edmund.

They all went into Lucy and Susan's room, not noticing a girl curled up, reading a book.

"Peter, I'm oldest here, so you have to listen to me! Mum didn't trust for nothing," she snapped to Peter, tired of his constant whining.

"Well, I have to say-" Peter said, but nobody would ever know what he said, for a girl in the corner startled them.

"Could you be quiet," she hissed.

Naturally, they screamed in surprise.

"Who are you?" Lucy asked, her voice trembling a little as she hid behind Susan.

She gave a quite weird answer, "Well that's it, isn't it? No one knows who they are until they make choices, yet they still never know,"

They were silent. She scoffed after a few moments, muttering something under her breath.

"Care to introduce yourselves?" She said, arching an eyebrow with a smirk on her face, which was as cocky as Draco Malfoy. He had rubbed off of her.. in many ways.

"So, I'm Peter, and the girl with a bossy face is Susan, the baby face is Lucy, and the stupid one is Edmund." he said, looking quite smug.

"Hey!" Edmund objected.

"I mean, he's not wrong Ed.." Lucy replied, giggling a little.

The girl on the bed had a fond smile on her face, which then turned into a haunted expression, as her eyes hardened and she lightly scowled.

The smile returned as she looked at them and told her name.

"Well, it was an honest pleasure to meet you all," she drawled, sarcastically, "I'm Hermione, you CANNOT call me Herms, or 'Mione," she said with viper eyes.

"Ok!" Lucy said exclaimed, excited to get to know the girl.

But, Susan wasn't buying it, living with her siblings, she knew, the girl wasn't lying, rather she was acting...

Strange.

"Which school do you go to?" Lucy asked, her eyes shining bright.

Hermione hesitated. "Well, I used to go to this boarding school in Scotland," she said, giving a vague answer.

Looking at Lucy's dejected look, she added, "You probably haven't it heard it, it's a private school, it's very rare to get the acceptance letter, so, yeah," she said.

"Wait- what do you mean used to?" Susan inquired.

Her expression turned hard, ice cold.

"I couldn't finish my education, because of the war going on, and it destroyed most of the school. It's rebuilt now, but I decided not to go again," she said, slowly and carefully.

"How old are you?" Edmund asked after moments of awkward silence.

"I'm, uh- what's the year again? Oh, sorry- it's 1999, then- uhm, I'm turning 20 in September." she said, sheepishly.

"You're 19?!" They all chorused.

She looked confused. "Why?"

"Uhm- nothing," she said, exchanging a look with Peter.

The silence was almost suffocating.

Hermione looked at the window, her eyes lighting up.

"I gotta go!" she squealed, excited.
